I agree, but how does that address paying male athletes in non-revenue sports, which most are?
For example, if a school's baseball program and softball program both lose money, how do they justify paying the baseball players twice as much as the softball players? It makes for an interesting debate.
They can't or they can argue "potential revenue." All they have to do is show that it is not based on sex.
Is this a problem at LSU? Surely your baseball program is profitable. I would love to ditch a lot of women's sports entirely. They do nothing but lose money. For example, in FY2024, Ole Mis Baseball was profitable by a little over $1 million (In a down year, no postseason, and lower than usual attendance). The women's basketball program lost almost $8 million, with postseason included.

Almost all college baseball teams lose money. LSU was 1.9 million in the red last year.

How does this play out?
Depends.
Is it too late to pull that skyskraper-sized asteroid right towards us?

Sorry Kamala, we’re not letting men in women’s sports.
They already have.

As a fan, why should I care? I’ll turn on my tv this fall and Bama will be playing Tennessee. The ribs and chicken will be smoking and the beer ice cold. I’ll watch for 3 hours and holler and cuss. I’ll have maybe $50 invested for the game in food and beer. Win or lose I’ll be back the following week, rinse and repeat.
I know many of us, myself included have worried about the state of college ball. I have to keep reminding myself of what my mother used to say.
“ Son, worry about what you can control”. As a little ole fan, I can only control the tv remote, the amount of heat I’m putting out in my smoker, and how much beer I’m consuming.
Have a good day and Roll Damn Tide!!

The vast majority of baseball programs, including most in the SEC, lose money each and every year.
If we cut all sports that don’t make a profit, most SEC schools will only have football and men’s basketball programs.
I don’t see how this new profit sharing ruling will preempt title IX when it goes to trial. That would require them scrapping title IX.

You obviously missed what I was saying. Boys should not be in girls sports but if we are going to let them, then Title IX should be void.

It’s truly amazing we still follow this sport like we do. We know its all a sham.
I’m pretty sure at Texas, it will take athletes refusing to sing the school song to finally shut us down. But then I remember, t-shirts probably wouldn’t care.
Before long, not only will the players not be students, but neither will the fans.
If A&M is serious about the 130,000 seat stadium, then the next big Aggie joke is in the making.

Life would be so much better without the 19th Amendment.
