FWIW, I didn't take his post as being anti-SEC. It's just facts - we had a cluster of schools that made up the old Big 12 North that were close together. ISU, Nebraska, KSU, kU and Mizzou were close - Colorado was the outlier there - all old Big 8 schools. BUT...the other schools were a different story; Lubbock was further away than Gainesville.

The other thing is destinations - the SEC destinations are so much better it's not even worth discussing. Mangattan, ks, Ames, IA, and Stillwater, OK? Or Lexington, KY, Oxford, MS and Athens, GA? I know which I'd choose, and it's not close - travel distances are not important.

What are you talking about?

Do you really think I was making a point that there wasn't a cluster of close schools in the big12??

He listed Ames as a for sure driving destination, but said maybe for Fayetteville. I simply said that if you're going to make Ames a sure bet, so is Fayetteville. My god this is stupid. Some of you are actually real life retards.

Well played.

Make post with no relevance, clearly shown why it was irrelevant. Respond with degrading 'you're crazy' post. Very well done.

Seriously mogray, might be time to step away. I was gonna suggest the same thing. Start anew tomorrow and if people are still pissing you off then have at it.

Not pissed off... but this is one of the more bizarre encounters I've had on here. Part of the problem is the group attack mode that you all go in.. I've made myself an easy target bc of past posts and it's turned into a situation where no matter what I say it will be interpreted wrong. This is pretty stupid. Two things I've said tonight, that Ames is just as far as Fayetteville so don't act like ones a sure drive and the other isn't. And STLers don't identify with their state. Those are not outrageous comments... sometimes it is me, but really this time it's you all.

Except you didn't say that. You went on a diatribe about me being a cub fan, being a "fricking Illinois person," and then saying that I hate the SEC because I answered a question cheese grits asked about destinations we could bus to in the Big 12.

Then you went on a rant about Illinois being corrupt and calling people morons. All this after flaming the Mizzou board all day.

Now you're crying because people are ganging up on you?

ETA: forget the rest.

IMO the SEC itself should start picking up the tab for all in conference travel expenses. It should be able to do this with ease once the money from the SECN comes in.

damn interesting concept. the SEC office is loaded because of their "cuts" from all SEC transactions from TV contracts to bowl games. i, for one, would support your idea. for the longest time i have felt the SEC takes too large of a cut. what the hell do they do with all that money? probably inflate the hell out of their staff and their salaries and benefits.
