Yeah. Honestly, I was beginning to lean a little towards Georgia, but at the time was split pretty evenly. I only became a big Georgia fan a few years ago...I mean, where I made sure I could watch all the games.

You have a good evening, man! I'm going to try to get away from this board for awhile!

another ignorant statement.

i am concluding you are either ignorant yourself or you have a major axe to grind with LSU and us louisianians. i'm leaning toward the latter and your hate is such you just can't hold it back. you really ought to do something about that as it seems to be consuming you; believe me when i say you are the loser. les miles is a man of integrity and louisiana is a great place with lots of decent people (just like arkansas).

Agree. Miles joined Meyer in my book. A coach who puts wins above integrity. Maybe he should call Muschamp or Saban for tips on how to win and still do it with class and character. This sets a bad example and future recruits with female siblings should definitely take note of this.
Perhaps you should stop reading fiction and read stories about real things.

So tell me. had it been YOUR 14 year old daughter, you would say, "No harm, no foul."

Well, I do have a daughter. Got a ways to go until she's 14 but that day will get here soon enough.

From what I understand of the case, Hill and another boy goaded the girl into giving him a hummer. Hopefully my wife and I have instilled our daughter with enough self respect to not give in to such demands. I know full well what boys want because it's the same thing my friends and I wanted at that age. Lots of guys are looking for Mrs. Right (the girl who didn't give it up right away) while happy to take what we could get from those who would put out.

Hill wasn't charged with assault or rape in that case. They couldn't prove he did anything beyond what most boys at that age are trying to do -- the crime was that she was underage.

I might demand a sitdown with Hill's parents if it were my daughter to discuss why Jeremy thought a 14 year old was on the playing field. But I'd still be a lot more upset with my daughter.

Sorry if I live in a place called reality where I haven't completely forgotten what boys are and what boys do. Rape and assault are one thing -- those are lines that can't be crossed and that's the kind of shite that would make me go Samuel L. Jackson on the perp. But I'm not naïve about what boys want from girls and they can be very persuasive to get what they want.

I'm a lot more bothered about 40+ year old men preying on barely legal teenagers than I am about high school seniors preying on high school freshmen. The law makes one of those a misdemeanor or felony while the other is perfectly legal yet uber creepy.

I really wished somebody would answer my question if a freshman boy came home and said the senior captain cheerleader let him go down on her.

Not saying it's right, but could you then say, "come on, you know there's a double standard," to excuse the Hill situation, since historically, talented athletes get more chances after messing up?

No. There are plenty of talented athletes that get punished when they mess up.

THAT is what is known as a false equivalence. The NCAA doesn't handle the issues/crimes Hill was involved in. It DOES handle what Manziel is accused of.

I'd be furious at my daughter for not being able to make a better decision.

I did answer your question. There's a clear double standard set in our society. The woman is the males conquest, not the other way around. This is for a lot of reasons and makes this situation, which might appear to be the converse, actually quite different. Society just doesn't often see the 14 year old male as the victim like they would see the 14 year old female. It's just the way things are.

Precisely.

That's recognizing the world as it is and not how you'd like it to be.

And as a father, I plan on letting my daughter know that's the way the world is. Life isn't fair. Girls get slutshamed and boys are passed off as just doing what boys do.

Maybe I'll just tell her the story of the "Finger Licking Good" sorority girl from my time at LSU.

But that would still make said cheerleader a child rapist, right? At least according to a lot of this board.

I agree with your post fwiw.

Oh yes, absolutely. By the letter of the law she is a rapist. The double standard shows up in the punishment differences between female teachers caught sleeping with male students and male teachers getting caught sleeping with female students. Until very recently, female teachers might get probation while the male teacher spends 15 years in prison.

I enjoy the fans of the somehow morally superior football schools in the SEC. No no, lets pretend that shite doesn't get swept under the rug by the REC. Lets all be naive enough to believe that a Bama player has never smoked weed and failed a drug test. I'm positive that if AJ McCarron threw a punch in a bar fight, St. Nick (God of Integrity) would kick his 2 year starter off the team in a hopeful championship year and go with Blake Sims instead. Get the frick of your moral high horse. This is the SEC. Winning football games is the first priority of every program and star players won't get booted from a team until the coach is left with no choice at all.

Miles did this to himself. He would have done better to just come out and say I am paid to win football games and this guy gives me the best opportunity to do that. Instead he hid behind his players intentional or not. If Hill gets suspended at all it will be viewed as media pressure. The good guy image is gone. He has been getting ripped to pieces nationally but like I said he brought this on himself. LSU fans are sure to spin this as you see Miles cares more for his players than his perception when truth is people are calling him out because he made a bad decision.
