As it has been stated before, the only reason people make fun of Bear Bryant being dead is that Bama fans idolize the man. Every team has dead coaches but Bama is pretty much the only fan base that gets tatoos, wears clothes and lives their life based on a coach.
From Rockne to Woody Hayes, you're wrong. It's even done from Lombardi to Landry on the next level...
Nonetheless, next time I use a No. 2 pencil I will think of Oaky Toomer for ya.

If you read about poisoning of the Treaty Oak in Texas, there is always a possibility that the tree will hang on. A big chunk of the tree did die, but its still there.
It was poisoned in 1989 (I think) and its still hanging on, after it was predicted it would die within a year or two.

There is only one Bear Bryant and everybody knows it. Thats besides the point.I cant speak for anybody else, but I know I was always taught to respect the dead PERIOD
I respect Bear. He is, and always will be the face of Bama, regardless of what Saban does. If I were a Bama fan, maybe the massive back tattoos of him would make sense to me, but to each his own.
As for Auburn, the trees are just as much a part of their tradition as Bear is to Bama.
Opposing fans, myself included, make fun of it usually to make ourselves feel better if they're rolling the trees after they beat us, but it's their tradition. That guy doesn't represent the entire Bama fan base, but what he did is fricked up and juvenile, especially for a fricking 62 year old.

So you speak for the entire Auburn fanbase? This thread alone shows thats not the case.
And the whole "god" talk? Really? Please pull up the postgame interviews after the BCS.
All that BS talk as if god chose Auburn. God dont care who wins a damn football game, BUT dont tell that to chiz or cam or his father who's the sterotypical crooked reverend or whatever he is.

After reading you idiocy in this thread,I sure hope you don't speak for the entire Alabama fanbase.

I haven't read this entire thread, only bits and pieces, and I am far from an expert in the Bama/Auburn rivalry so I need a little info......is Bear Bryant still dead?

Are you really comparing the God that billions of people believe in to Bear Bryant? So our coach is a Christian and is very vocal about it, Tim Tebow and athletes throughout history have been the same way.
Christians believe that everything happen for a reason and God chooses that, thus when an athlete or award recipient wins an award they thank God.
