ive been to a few away games, but the one im dying to go to is fayetteville. i've heard nothing but good things about it. but being an LSU fan, i know there's no chance of that happening. LINK

It'll happen sooner rather than later. With the conference expanding and A&M becoming an SEC game, we'll need more appearances in Fayetteville for revenue and recruiting.

When A&M was an OOC game we could make up for it by having a scrub team come to Fayetteville. With an extra conference game, which is being played on a neutral field for $5MM, coming onto the schedule, LR is going to lose a game. It'll piss off a lot of people, but such is the cost of progress.

you'd think with the recent slobberknockers lsu and arky have had, they would maybe bring the game to a more respectable venue? i just know when I watch the away games on tv and see that blimp view of that stadium in Little Rock....yuck

I'd rather have our pushover OOC games at WMS and all SEC home games in Fay. Still get 2 games a year in LR and the LSU game gets to enjoy a much better stadium.

Apparently the players almost unanimously disagree with you. They love the LR games...the crowd...the noise. Also, we always have several guys from Central Arkansas who played several of their home games in that stadium, and it's fun for them to play in front of home town fans. I think of Jake Bequette and Joe Adams this year.

Now...having said that, I believe all games should be played in Fayetteville. When I became old and boring, I started to dislike attending games at WMS. The golf course is a wild sight, and we have lots of fun tailgating with several other families. Unfortunately, your Saline and Faulkner and Lonoke County trash oozes into the Big City for those games, drinks themselves senseless(er) and then stumbles their way to their seats to ruin it for everyone. The last several games I've been to WMS I've seen people puke/pass out on themselves, get in fights, swear endlessly around my wife and kids, etc. It's just not a great place to go because of all the riff-raff that comes to embarrass itself.

Too late. That (flag)ship has sailed. I loves me some cold beer and football. In large quantities of both. But the Saline/Faulkner/Lonoke County tri-fecta that overtakes WMS has made that scene one that I avoid.

I'm always amused by this. Do you people expect the players to come out and say, "Playing in LR sucks?" Of course not. Instead you'll get 1 or 2 Arkansas kids each year say how much they love it.

1 game a year there and alternate the Mississippi schools.

this or play an non-con early. I don't think we should be playing SEC games in LR anymore. The stadium being louder is BS as evidenced by the last two years. Games in Fayetteville have been very loud lately

Of course they could all be pandering to the central Ark media. But I doubt those kids are really that savvy. My honest take on it is that they DO like the novelty of playing a "home" game in that ratty old - LOUD - place. I had a few friends on the Pom Squad when I was in college and they all said they LOVED cheering at WMS because the energy was so much different there than in Fayetteville. I suspect the players feel similarly.

Now...I do believe that the energy in Fayetteville has improved exponentially since I was up there in the late 80's/early 90's.

You must not get out much. 90% of the trash in central Arkansas can be found in Little Rock/Pulaski County. Chenal and PV aside, anyone with money has moved to Benton/Bryant(Saline), Conway(Faulkner), or Cabot(Lonoke). Little Rock is an absolute shite hole.

Arkansas is the ONLY SEC SCHOOL who plays SEC games off campus.

South Carolina technically doesn't play on campus

Problem is, the pom squad isn't paying the bills, and neither are the few players from the little rock area.

It is about money and the amount we lose by playing in LR.

The old rich LR people that bitch about having to drive to fayetteville to the CAMPUS to see the hogs play are the same old rich LR people that wanted to keep Houston fricking Nutt.

They can hurry up and die for all I care. Their younger, more up-to-date kids will still donate their trust funds to the Razorback Foundation even if they can't go to a shithole stadium twice a year.
