re: Former FFA boys rally here

85, 86, and 87. Small town high school in Arkansas. I did dairy products competition. We got to taste cheeses, milk (identifying defects) and identify defects with milking equipment. I remember going to Russellville Arkansas for regional competition and Fayetteville (at the U of A) for state competition. Never won but it was a good times.

I still have my FFA jacket in the closet but it doesn’t fit anymore.

Only one time. I walked around a corner and someone shot me. I remember knowing I was dead and was pissed that this is how it ended for me.

Work in financial services. It is encouraged but not required. Probably less than 10% of my corespondents do it.

I would recommend that you do a free trial for YouTube TV and/or Hulu Live before committing to AT&T Now.

I was a previous Directv customer who moved to what was then DirectvNow. Other than better stability and a new name, AT&T hasn’t made a lot of improvements to the product.

I found YouTube TV to be a superior product over AT&T Now. Better cloud DVR, better picture quality, ability to pause live TV, and an easier interface.

I wish I had switched sooner. Most, if not all of the streaming services have a free trial. Give them a test run to see which one works best for you.

Wilmington NC here. Rain picking up. Some wind but nothing destructive. I still have power. Tornado warning for New Hanover County just came across my phone. 8:14 pm eastern.

Wilmington NC here. As of 5:12pm eastern, nothing. I know it is coming. We are under a tornado watch.

Ordered a pizza. Should get here in 10 minutes. Tipping the driver $20.
I deleted my accounts on FB and Twitter this week. Twitter became so toxic.

Also dumped LinkedIn. Not for the same reasons as I did FB and Twitter. Tired of the BS inspirational posts by people and head hunters bugging me.
Thanks. Now I feel like an idiot for asking. At least I leaned something today. Thanks again.

Zucchini and Squash Pollination Question

Posted by nchawg on 4/13/20 at 11:35 am
Got limited garden space and this year wanted to get away with one zucchini plant and one straight neck yellow squash plant. I normally do two of each but want to use the space for other plants this time.

Will a single zucchini plant and yellow squash plant pollenate each other (naturally with bees of course)? Will I get some cross breed result or normal results?

Thanks in advance.
I own two rent houses. Last week the rental management company emailed me and other property owners stating concerns over renters not being able to pay, due to health, unemployment, etc.

Lucky for me, both houses are paid for. I still have to pay upkeep, property taxes and insurance. If the renters need it, I have no problem letting my rental income go until this passes. I’m not kicking a family out in the street during this crisis.
Dollar Tree has cards for $1. Even 2 for $1. Talking Hallmark brand birthday, anniversary, and other event cards.
I have used FB for years. Home and auto. They pay claims quick and never had any issues with them not paying a claim or not paying enough.

I have had both claims with my house and cars. Two cars totaled thanks to my damn teenaged kids. They are adults now.

You do have to pay small yearly dues. Not much. Good news is the local office has a notary and we can use them when we need that service.

Oh, and every other year I will get a call from the agent asking about life insurance (whole life I am sure). I kindly tell them I am not interested and we all move on.

re: DirecTV Now

I have had Directv Now a few months. So far, so good. I have no plans to go back to Directv.

Download the Directv app to your streaming device. I use the Amazon FireTv. It is also supported on others (Ruko, etc). Signup via the web site. They offer a free trial.

Yes, Directv Now does have on demand movies and shows.

It is not as good as Directv. Directv has a better user interface and more features. But, my bill went from $130 per month to $55 so it is good enough for me.

There is a cloud DVR (20 hours default). Works fine. There are some shows that you can't record the series. Individual show yes, but not the series. Licensing issue perhaps. Most shows I can record the series.

You will have to get use to the interface, coming from Directv. No channel numbers on the guide. Channels are in alphabetical order. You can create a favorites list. They also have a some basic filters for things like sports.

I get all the sports channels (ESPN, FS1, CBS Sports, SEC Network) I need with my package. During week 1 of the college football season I noticed some annoying buffering but that has stopped.

You can't rewind live TV like with the Directv's Genie. So if there is a Super Bowl wardrobe malfunction then you will not be able to rewind to see the nip slip. You can solve this by recording the show even if you watch it live.

Pausing live TV isn't that great either. It starts forwarding the show, even when paused, if you keep it paused too long. So no long trips to the toilet while your show is paused. Again, record it if you need to pause it for a more than a few minutes.

The last couple of week, the app has rebooted itself about a 1/2 dozen times. This sucks when you are in the middle of watching a football game. Now this is a new development and I hope they fix it with the next update.

It takes a few extra clicks (compared to a Directv remote) to get to where you are wanting to go (pulling up the guide for example). I'm using the Amazon FireTv.

When I switch channels, the stream begins with standard definition then switches to HD a few seconds later. Kind of annoying.

Recording live events (e.g. sports). The cloud DVR does not offer an extension like Directv does. If you believe the game could go past the time listed on the guide then you better record the next show as well.

Sorry for the long response.
I think there is only two episodes left so I'll finish it.

The story line has been bad. Not sure the trucker chick and her brother add a lot of value. I also don't get how some overweight middle age woman can wreak that much havoc. She can really sneak up on that many people with a walker on a stick?

Unless it turns around in the last two episodes then I am done with this. There are only two original characters left. Story line sucks. Time to bury it.

Well according to the lawsuit over his ex-girlfriend's death, he allegedly gave her 3 STDs. Maybe one was syphilis that he has yet to get it treated.

re: DirecTV Now DVR Issues

It is a little squirrelly. I have noticed that when I record a series, I have had missing episodes. I would get 1 to 3, skips 4, then gets 5 on. I have talked to others who have also seen this same anomaly.

You also can't add an extension if recording a live event that can go past the time on the guide. You have to record the next show to make sure you get all of the game.

I have also noticed that you can't record the series for some shows. PTI on ESPN is one example.

I am hoping this gets better. It is beta.

I did not see any option to pay extra for the cloud DVR. It comes with the package I subscribe to (just right package). This is the only cloud DVR option they have.
