That seems to be the case. Well, nothing wrong with that. Carter doesn't get "fired" and we get the guy we evidently wanted.
I wish Carter the best of luck at Ole Miss and it will be interesting to see how the new guy does here.

Well this explains that Carter was told to look around. Hired less than 12 hours after Carter left.
Players love him and he will be able to recruit. Players and staff hated the last guy.
This guy also has more coaching experience. Carter has only been a coach for two years

He's a HUGE upgrade on the field coaching wise and likely an upgrade in recruiting, too. Memphis being a city on our literal border , that's useful.
