Assuming Day didn't tear his ACL again as is being reported.

The article all but admits UGA and auburn have more dominant rushing attacks... arkansas runs the ball out of a ton of formations and looks... and is damn good at it. But others have been able to win divisions, conference titles, and NCs with with run based offenses.
It remains to be seen if ark can do that... could happen this year. We'll see.

What cost you games earlier in the season was your combination of a talented, but struggling, pass rush and a bad secondary. When the pass rush stepped up, the secondary obviously benefitted.
Analyzing the Hog defensive line and pass rush - 2014
In losses
7 sacks, 14 QB hurries, 269.2 passing yards per game, 12 TD, 4 INT
In wins
17 sacks, 22 QB hurries, 157.0 passing yards per game, 7 TD, 8 INT
As such, I feel as if replacing your pass rushers is the key to a successful season for y'all, much more than your third string RB.
Who do y'all have coming back in the secondary?

Pretty much everyone in the two deep. We lose one of our "starting" safeties but our #3 safety Josh Liddell got a couple of starts and played quite a bit due to various injuries and suspensions over the year from the two in from of him.
Our two deep for spring:
CB: Jared Collins - JR - '14 starter
Santos Ramirez - RS FR - redshirted in '14
S: Rohan Gaines - SR - 3 year starter
Davyon McKinney - SR - career backup
S: Josh Liddell - SO - started two games in '14
De'Andre Coley - RS SO - played primarily on ST last year
CB - Henre Toliver - SO - started 5 games before being hurt
DJ Dean - JR - started the other games when Toliver was hurt

Everyone, both our corners were young last year, 1 a true freshman. We do lose a safety in Turner, but I believe our backup has much more upside than Turner did. Our defense should be really good once again

That should help with breaking in a new pass rush, for sure.

Arkansas has the most complete run game in college football
Team A: 474 carries, 2,504 yards, 5.3 YPC, 14 TD
Team B: 729 carries, 4,596 yards, 6.3 YPC, 48 TD
2014
Team A: 557 carries, 2,834 yards, 5.1 YPC, 31 TD
Team B: 607 carries, 3,321 yards, 5.5 YPC, 32 TD
Which has the more complete run game?

According to the writers definition it would be Arkansas. If you read it, as lowpark did, he addressed Auburn at the end of the article.

I wouldnt really call that a loss. Liddell is much better.

I should clarify that we also lost our NB. However, it looks like DJ Dean will slide in when we go Nickel. He split about half the season with Henre Toliver at one of the CB spots last year so I would say it should be a relatively stable transition.

quote:I think Auburn might drop a few spots this year, but not due to scheme or personnel. I think this Auburn team will show more tendency to pass the ball than any Auburn offense we have seen under Gus Malzahn.
But keep in mind that complete doesn’t necessarily mean dominant as teams like Auburn University and the University of Georgia are certainly up for that part of the discussion.

That's interesting to hear because I would say the same thing about our offense this year as well. Bielema is obviously going to still lean on JWill and AC3 but so far it sounds like they are getting serious about throwing the ball more. Through one week of spring practice he said they are spending more time on the passing game per practice then at any other time during his career.
