I don't know about all that but I find it very sad and pathetic that the post that said nothing was racist or negative about the billboards got 16 upvotes and 3 downvotes.
I guarantee you that the black kids playing football for these fans' teams would find it disconcerting.

Look I have no problem with Trump supporters, or Rightside broadcasting. I just wanted the Aubie to know that the state in which our schools share is tied with Wyoming as the states where Trump has the biggest approval rating. And Auburn is where one of the biggest conservative broadcasters is based. Not saying it is good or bad, but if I were an anti Trump Aubie, I wouldn't point my finger at another town for supporting Trump is all.

I actually had a lady in her 70's or 80's from there strike up the KKK/Harrison conversation with me several weeks ago. She said her husband had mixed it up with whatshisname Robb, the KKK guy there. Some threats or whatnot. Not sure how long ago.
With me not leading anything in that conversation, she flat said the KKK Robb guy was protected there by local govt officials "who are Democrats."
I swear. I had not led this elderly woman in any way in this conversation. She didn't know my political persuasion, and in fact I probably look like a middle aged hippy liberal anyway. She said "sorry if you're a Democrat, but that's what happened."
I smiled and told her I was not a Democrat.

Harrison, the city, is ugly and full of billboards and crappy development.
The countryside immediately outside the city is wonderful.

Harrison is an hour and a half from Fayetteville.
In Alpena, just east of Harrison, there's a place that sells chainsaw art and a large selection of "rebel flags".
A few years ago, riding with some Fayetteville hipsters out to canoe the Buffalo River, we drive into Alpena and see all the "rebel flags" at the flea market. One of them remarks:

I grew up an hour away. Harrison isn't any more racist than anywhere else and I believe it's actually Zinc that is HQ for the KKK. Harrison is full of goat humpers though.

OK, we admit, this one isolated town sort of intruded on the Ole Miss gimmick.
If Alabama had a town that filled up jizz jars and had dancing milkmen for cheerleaders then A&M would rightly be upset. If South Carolina boasted a town made up entirely of Cubans and people from the North East then Florida would have good call to be annoyed.
If we don't stop this now then Mississippi will retaliate by having a town with an educated work force and low crime just to try and spite Arkansas.
