It's hard to believe a 36 year old Arkansas Tech alum had an offer to be the coach at the University of Arkansas.

they didnt have jerah money?

Eli Drinkwitz and had to borrow money from the university to overpay for him.
Mizzou is borrowing money from their university to fund their athletic department.
Holy shite. Methzou students will be rioting when they find out that their safe space funding is being reduced.

I saw ED get punked at the Alma Sonic one time.

just glad we didn't get a 36 year old who was too scared to play DII football
holy shite!
Mizzou got the perfect man. Someone so limp wristed that he couldn't make the team for the F'N WONDERBOYS. No lie - that's his alma mater's mascot.

It's true.
LINK
"To make up for the lost revenue, Cartwright said the university will aid the athletic department through a loan. Sterk pointed out it’s a similar monetary process as when Mizzou was transitioning from the Big 12 to SEC.
“It would be a budget move as far as us being able to utilize some resources,” Sterk said. “It’ll be a payback type of loan.”

Arkansas wanted Kiffin. Ole Miss wanted Kiffin. Kiffin chooses Ole Miss.
Arkansas wanted Drinkwitz. Missouri wanted Drinkwitz. Drinkwitz chooses Missouri.
Arkansas settles for a position coach with no coordinator/head coaching experience.
I'll admit I really wanted Kiffin. We can argue about how that played out but fact is, he's at Ole Miss and that's all that matter.
Drink on the other hand. He may win a NC at Mizzou, but I'm glad we didn't go that route. I don't have confidence he has the connections to put together the staff he needs to win at Arkasnas. Maybe he does. But short of winning a NC at Mizzou I'd be willing to bet we could call him back home if the opportunity ever presented itself in the future.
If Arkansas is his dream job, and it may not be, he's smart for realizing he's not ready given the hurdles he'd have to overcome.

Ed O. has been the best hire in the SEC since 2016. Who knows what happens with these dudes, but that fact should give us all hope...and no offense to coach O, he has shite clicking again in Baton Rouge.

We hired an all-american defensive lineman for the Pitt State Gorillas
They hired a computer nerd who wasn't good enough to play for the wonderboys.

Bezos done stole that lunch money and the Waltons are pinching pennies and rolling back coaches.

You guys are trying way to hard to feel good about hiring Drink & Itch for ridiculous money.
Hog fans would have revolted if he was hired by Arkansas. We didn’t want him.

I full believe Arkansas won't win a game next year.
It's truly sad how Bobby Petrino's adultery could bring down a once proud program, but here we are. Only 8 years removed from 11-2 and a #3 national ranking to a now completely vanquished organisation.

Hog fans have never revolted against any coached hired at Ark. in the 36 years I've lived here, not even one day Dana Altman - until he left. Hog fans are the least objectional fans I've ever seen when hiring coaches.

Actually, if the rumours are true, we were the higher bid but his agent tried to play Ole Miss off of us and our AD walked.
That said, I still don't think we even offered Kiffin. The really connected UTR guys in Arkansas media are saying our list was Campbell then Pittman.

That period is long gone. And likely won’t cOme back. Arkansas is in a quagmire of epic proportions.
