Are they ones who want to play games at War Memorial in Little Rock? Is there a political tug of war in the state between your Little Rock boosters and your NW Arkansas boosters over this issue?

Did Bama have similar issues with Boosters in Birmingham wanting games play games at Legion Field?

I always enjoy these threads.

They almost always turn into Little Rock vs NWA arguments

The Stephens are billionaire investment bankers that have a lot of pull in the state and they live in Little Rock. They're pretty much the reason we still play games there.

Stephens can’t get his lazy arse to Fayetteville for a football game?

Sure but isn’t it more fun to bring the game to you.

They obviously don't have enough money for recruits.

Yeah but imagine being so rich that you can get a team to play in your backyard.

It's about power and ego, and local boosterism.

Warren Stephens has a net worth of $2.4 Billion.

He's right about as wealthy as John Tyson, Tyson Foods (NWA).

He's less than half of what Jerry Jones has, and isn't even in the same universe as Walton $$$$.

For a small state, we have a lot of really rich people, many of whom care about college sports (the Waltons do not care about college sports, fyi).

Back in the day LR was pretty much the hub of everything to do in the state and there weren’t many people in NWA. That’s changed in the last 20 years though. We used to play night games at War Memorial because the stadium had lights before DWRRS did.

People from around the state are able to get to the game easier since it’s in the center of the state so it became tradition and when you take something away of course they’re going to be upset about it even if it makes sense for the best interest of the University.

Warren Stephens would be the 4th wealthiest person in NWA, depending on the year Tyson has. And that's leaving out Alice Walton who more or less lives here, but keeps her primary residence in Fort Worth, for tax purposes. Compare that to a state like Mississippi which has zero billionaires as residents.

Case in point...

This past coaching search season, we had a total of 17 boosters respectively offer our head coaching job to 23 different coaches in the midst of obviously 17 different searches

And an interim AD

Forgot about her

Not the case in Georgia.Yea,the Cathy's ( Chi Fil A) do put on the bowl and kickoff classics but they don't get much involved
with the local P5 schools and give their money to Berry College. The Woodruffs (Coke) are big Emory donors.Blank and Marcus (Home Depot)really don't GAS about CFB and Ted Turner doesn't either.

Don't have a Yellawood Fatass or Wal-Mart sugardaddies making the huge donations.Wish we did.
