Are you a convert?

I'm curious. I've been born and raised on Alabama football. My parents never told us or forced us to say "Roll Tide" or anything like that, but of course when Bama football was on, dad was pulling for the good guys in crimson and clearly I wanted to follow suit. So, because I grew up on it as a kid, I can't imagine how a loyalty can form as an adult. I appreciate sports but I'm no avid fan of anything OTHER than Bama football.
So, my question to y'all would be: Did you originally love one school and then change your loyalty? Why? How? Is there still a soft spot in your heart for the old school somewhere?

all of my dad's side of the family are huge tiger fans from La..he was the lone child that went to MSU..i have been a die hard tiger fan ever since

I guess you could say I was born and raised into it. When I was in my preteens, I was happy when LSU won, but didn't really care all that much and didn't own one piece of LSU attire.
My parents took me to my first Saturday night in DF and I've been a diehard and hooked ever since.

Dad is an Auburn grad(Have things named after family at the school). Mom is an LSU grad. I was raised on both and know both of the schools traditions and history. I am a student at LSU and LSU is by far #1; however, I would never root against Auburn if LSU wasn't involved. I would also never root for Alabama in anything.
I also don't understand die hards that have never attended LSU or don't at least have a family history there. Well I will give the state of Alabama a pass because there is nothing but Bama and Auburn sports in the state.

Born and raised in Tuscaloosa, I rooted for Florida State football and North Carolina basketball. It drove my grandparents nuts...
When I grew up a bit, I realized who I should be for...and havne't looked back since.
I do pull for FSU and UNC though when not playing Alabama.

Born and raised in a Alabama family. Just about every single member, except for a couple of cousins(who I can't stand anyway), are Bama fans. I grew up watching the games, not understanding at first what the big deal was. The first game I ever remember watching was the 1993 Sugar Bowl for the NC. It wasn't until years later that I understood all the madness about it.

it's pretty cool to see some of y'alls stories. i kinda feel like sports are important because in all actuality nothing changes if you win or lose... so it gives our nation something to put their energy and hearts into that ultimately "doesn't matter..." but TOTALLY matters. such a healthy thing for most folks ;)

Yea,I grew up pulling for Vanderbilt. That's where my dad went. We didn't hunt ,fish or camp.We went to Vandy games. As bad as they were in football (got to see some awesome basketball),that was our team.We had some long drives home in the fall.
I hate it when LSU plays Vandy. I want LSU to win,but I hate seeing Vandy lose.

LSU born and bred. Purple and gold blood runs through my veins. All other college teams are insignificant!!

convert. I grew up on NFL football and no one in my family went to Bama. My mom actually went to LSU but she doesn't follow sports.

My dad was a Southern Miss alum of course back then it was USM. I was raised going to their games and my 1st cheer was pooey pooey Ole Miss (with help from my dad and aunt I am sure). I went to several Ole Miss USM games before they stopped playing then my best friend asked me to go to Oxford for a game my senior year of high school. I went and got goose bumps as the band played Dixie in the Grove. It was all it took I have been die hard Ole Miss ever since. Even attended college there. The Bf is a LSU fan and he is pretty sure he is going to convert me but it's not happening.

All of my family is from Texas either UT, OU, Rice fans. I moved from Austin to BR when i was 4 so i grew up a LSU fan. Dad was never a die hard fan of them but always pulled for them. He is a U of H grad. I feel good saying they are my second fav.
