I'd say the Academics really became well known and more well rounded by the mid 90's, and enrollment started really blowing up by 2000.
Agreed and your Engineering and Agricultural program is top notch. Everytime I pull up an article about my lawn, the study was performed at A&M

Also, just like UT, A&M has a big percentage of transfers from Blinn and CC's here in Htown. I razz Aggieland on occasion, but you guys are a good school

Who has the bigger Alumni base in Texas?
Not only are the more Aggies in Texas than Tigers, here is the real deal and it's going to sting.
High School kids in the state of Texas that can't get into their first choice of Texas A&M or Univ. of Texas, then go to LSU or Texas Tech or Texas State or University of Houston, etc.

The tu campus is one of racism, drugs, and rampant socialist liberal agendas.
Believe it or not Texas is still a conservative state. That's why tu is steadily becoming a commuter school and one for out of state liberals that want to get away from home.

A&M has twice the number of living alumni that LSU does. There are more A&M alumni in the Houston metropolitan area alone than there are LSU alumni in the entire country outside of Louisiana.
Stupid thread

You're blind if you don't think we have those issues, too. And define "drugs".

I'd say that it's because of the direction that t.u. wants to take.
They want to be the University of California at Austin.

If the longhorns went to the Pac10 or Pac12, whatever that conference is called, say goodbye to the football programs at TCU and Baylor.

I'd settle for the University of Texas at San Diego, but, yeah, can't really argue with this.

Baylor has always taken TCU down with them. This time would be no different.

TCU would have an outside chance of being rescued by another major conference due to location in Ft Worth. Baylor... not so much.
