What's funny about that is Mizzou beat them last year. And also beat them 2yrs in a row while in the Big 12. Oh and Ole Miss gets better recruits but gets spanked by sorry Ol Mizzou.

Are the SEC East and West teams balanced enough from top to bottom?

quote:
No. Let's move Auburn to the East to balance the divisions and bring back old rivalries

If the SEC ever goes to 16 teams, they need to consider moving both Alabama and Auburn to the East to protect the 2 games that we have permanent cross division rivals for:

UGA/AU- Oldest rivalry in the Deep South
Ala/UT- The 3rd Saturday in October

Example (You add the Oklahoma schools):

West:
A&M
Arkansas
LSU
Miss
Miss St
Missouri
Oklahoma
Oklahoma St.

East:
Alabama
Auburn
UGA
UT
UK
Fla
USC
Vandy

If/WHEN we go to 16 teams.....NO WAY IN HELL will they do anything other than pod format scheduling.

the whole "6 of the last 8" is purely an arbitrary grab of games to make mizzou look good

I think you need to look up the definition of the word "arbitrary." The 8 most recent games is not an "arbitrary" grab of games. They are the 8 most recent games, so they are the 8 most relevant.

"One day when the SEC goes to 16 teams, they'll do a rotating pod schedule and it will be mute. "

Mute? What won't be able to talk? Is it moot you are looking for perhaps? For this point?

Replace Mizzou with Florida State or Clemson.

When looking at the current teams, Clemson would be a downgrade from Mizzou. Oh look, Gurley is in space again!

Not directed at Mizzouantler.....but why do people keep mentioning these ACC schools(Clemson, UNC, Virginia, FSU, VT, NC State). They DON'T want to join the SEC. People just don't get it. They don't want to join a HARDER conference, especially with the new playoff format. Sheesh people get it through your heads. If they wanted to join they would have left 2yrs ago. Maryland is the only school with balls to leave. SEC will get the Oklahoma schools if they expand. Big 12 will be the only Power 5 conference breaking up.

I was disappointed that Missouri didn't get Ole Miss again.

Easy conference wins help you move up the Bowl ladder.

Auburn should be the east team, but moving Alabama to the east would solve the conundrum.
FL is fkd regardless. If this happened I would love to drop the FSU game or alternate it with Miami. But that would never happen.

During the 90's the East was the superior division.

Things change.

Here is how they would match up historically.

Alabama - Tennessee
LSU - Georgia
Auburn - Florida

The East and West alternate the first 6 spots as far as winning percentage.

Numbers 7,8,9 all belong to the West. 10-13 are the East.

Texas A&M - Missouri
Arkansas - South Carolina
Ole Miss - Vanderbilt
Mississippi St - Kentucky

Being how things are cyclical then yes it is pretty even the way it is now.

For the time being though the West is clearly the strongest of the two.

IMO what puts the West over the East historically and in the future is the bottom 4 teams. Especially the bottom two.

well since the West has 2 Mississippi schools + Arkansas in it, that division will always suck pretty hardcore. Those 3 schools are shitty at just about everything.

Ole Miss recently won the SEC in round ball and went Omaha in baseball, our tennis team won a natty, our track team won a pole vault natty just to name a few accomplishments off the top of my head...

Well Mr. Garrison (speaking in voice of Cartman) Seems like you have chip on your shoulder from getting that arse whipped by LSU last year. Never mind it was raining so it doesn't count as a real loss
