Statistics bud. Also, beat record number of top 15 teams in a season. Pay attention

Check the thread title.

ND is the only 1-loss team left, all the others have 2. Chances are we get the first 2-loss champion since 2007 - and chances are this will be more common.

In 100 years LSU was the first 2-loss champion, now there will be more. That's what has changed.

Yeah, which ones?

You can be in the conversation for greatest offense of all time, even though you padded stats vs Northwestern State and Utah State, and even though many of those records were broken the very next year.

But suggesting LSU as the “Greatest Team” of all time is laughably absurd - given your defense didn’t even finish in the Top 30 and were in the bottom half of the SEC.

Even your special teams were meh - averaging under 43 yards per punt (10th in the SEC). You also missed 4 extra points, and only hit 50% of your FGs between 40-49 yards.

Against depleted rosters. Stop pretending that 2020 was any kind of a normal year. Someone had to be declared champions, congrats, but stop trying to make anyone think is was some great season. It wasn't. It sucked.

Just because LSU’s entire pussy arse team opted out doesn’t mean the rest of our opponents did.

It will become a rarity. Maybe twice a decade.

I'm not talking about just opt-outs, I'm also talking about covid testing whereby players testing positive couldn't play. Games all over the country were cancelled and postponed due to a lack of players available. Saban, however, eschewed these testing protocols.

But I'm not going to argue with you any more, you know what kind of a season it was, I don't have to tell you. Congrats on your team being the first one to claim a championship after beating a 7-win team in a bowl game.

How many total starters missed games against Alabama due to COVID or Opt-outs?

Of course not, because you’re a little bitch who chooses to live in an alternate reality rather than come to terms with the fact that the greatest LSU team of all time was only the 2nd best team in the SEC in a two year stretch.

Enjoy.

You wait and see when LSU fans will say 2025 will be LSU year to go undefeated and win a championship.

Very true. Brain fart on my part. Old age catching me I guess. I fixed the OP.

If you look historically the AP champion (since 1936) was undefeated about half the time and had 1 loss the other half of the time. Only two 2 loss teams won it ever.

The rate of undefeated teams winning the title is gonna go way down, but will still happen occasionally.

Two loss teams winning the title will become fairly common place as well.

Another interesting side effect of the larger playoff is that we will never have multiple teams finish undefeated in the same year anymore. Everyone undefeated will surely be in the playoffs so only 1 will ever be left standing.

…. And BLEW through the end of the SEC season, SEC Championship, and Playoffs while beating the “unstoppable” Trevor Lawrence lead, defending Champs.

Pay attention.

2020 Bama isn’t top 3 all time. They also played in a shortened season with MANY players opting out of the season.

Only once has there been a two-loss AP champion (2007 LSU).

1960 Minnesota was crowned AP champion at the end of the regular season at (8-1). The bowl loss was irrelevant, finishing (8-2).

They were the second.

Minnesota were national champions of 1960 but ended their season with two losses.

Yeah, a lot of folks nowadays don’t realize it, but AP didn’t start naming its national champion until the late 60s. And the coaches poll didn’t do it until 1974. Before then, there were a number of teams that were crowned national champions at the end of the season only to then go lose their bowl game.

Is this why he tested positive for Covid that season not once but twice?

I love this argument. Every team was operating with the same handicaps and protocols, but somehow Saban and Alabama were able to circumvent protocol despite the entire sport being under the microscope of liberal sports journalists who were looking for any reason to cancel the season prematurely.

Most of the non-Alabama first rounders sat out the fake season. A bunch of starters for other teams did not play against Alabama.
