I'm willing to give him one more year. If he makes the playoffs in 2025 he can stay. If not, he needs to go. Not that I have any influence in this decision.

Watching what Freeman did this year at ND confirms this.
Kelly went to two semi finals and a national championship game.

With inflation figured in, paying the same price for him as A&M did for Jimbo. In comparison, Kelly is quite the bargain.
To be fair it was the same guy that drew up both contracts.
In the SEC there are two tiers. The ones that win 9 games and put the head coach on a hot seat. And then the ones that win 9 games and give the head coach an extension. LSU is in that first tier, A&M is in that second tier. Just when the Aggies look like they can join tier 1, they win 8 games. Rinse and repeat.

Yeah, he did, but his teams were also blown out in all three games. They were outscore a combined 103-31...Marcus Freeman did win three playoff games (Indiana, Georgia and Penn State) and was able to rally his team in the second half to make the Ohio State game somewhat competitive. I truly don't think Kelly would have accomplished that.
This is Kelly's final straw for me. If we miss out on the Playoffs, I'm done with him. No excuses this year...the schedule is challenging, but talent is there. No excuses.

It's hard to eat huge contracts when the coach is just above average and recruiting. But the Cajuns will keep holding their nose in hopes that he can figure out how to play defense and run the ball. Talk abut losing your way.

If it isn’t already, age is about to become an issue for Kelly. Even the all time greats lose a step or two beginning in their mid-sixties.

Well, on paper, LSU should be really good. We'll see if they live up to expectations ...

Not sure why the laughing emoji. You can't demonstrate where Kelly had success against the best competition at ND. He was competitive at times (Georgia, for example), but he generally didn't win. Kelly isn't taking Notre Dame and beating IU, UGA, and PSU, successively. He just isn't. Hell, I don't think he can accomplish that at LSU. ...

ND had the easiest road to the championship game and got destroyed by tOSU. Don't let the final score fool you, it was over at half time.

Why not?
Notre Dame had more talent than both Penn State and Indiana, Georgia was up and down all year.
No elite quarterback play on any of those teams.
Notre Dame was favored in all of those matchups for a reason, this wasn't 2020 Bama or 2018 Clemson.
When Notre Dame actually faced a more talented team with a good quarterback, they were dominated despite the fact that 2024 Ohio State is one of the worst national champions, accomplishments wise, in modern history.
