Virtually a guaranteed win just like the GT game.
I say No.
I say No.

They would have their home-and-home every two years instead of every year. Is that a big issue?

Yes. Your University was under 10 years old when we played our first game and we’ve done so every year since..

Would be the best reason to keep the rivalry going

125-game history. If the SEC fricks that up I will be hella pissed. But that’s what you get with a clown whore like Sankey.

You can keep it if you have a permananet opponent from the other pods. Copying over from South Carolina's 247:
Have to go with four 4-team divisions. I say you go strictly geographically and let the chips fall where the may. I think you'd need to have a permanent opponent from each division, but I'm open to ideas. (Perm Opponents in parenthesis) If we moved to nine games, you would rotate one team from each of the other 3 divisions every year. So, 3 division, 3 permanent rivals, 3 rotating. We'd see everyone in a four year span.
SEC East
Florida (UT, LSU, MU)
Georgia (AU, Arky, OU)
Kentucky (Bama, Ole Miss, Texas)
South Carolina (Vandy, Miss St, ATM)
SEC South
Tennessee (UF, LSU, MU)
Auburn (UGA, ARKY, OU)
Alabama (UK, Ole Miss, UT)
Vanderbilt (SC, Miss St, ATM)
SEC Central
LSU (UF, UT, MU)
Arkansas (UGA, AU, OU)
Mississippi (UK, Bama, Texas)
Mississippi St (SC, Vandy, ATM)
SEC West
Missouri (UF, UT, LSU)
Oklahoma (UGA, AU, Arky)
Texas (UK, Bama, Ole Miss)
Texas A&M (SC, Vandy, Miss St)
Thoughts?
Also...the winners of the East and South play for the Steve Spurrier Trophy and a spot in the SEC Championship. The winners of the West and Central play for the Paul "Bear" Bryant trophy and the other spot in the SEC Championship.

I’ll call your bluff! My arse it’s another game to you now.

Yeah, we are good. We only like rivals who win National Championships anyway.

Just ditch divisions and pods. Go for a balanced schedule approach that cycles opponents evenly. Top 2 conference records play in the SECCG.
The only permanent annual games are the perma-rival games that need to be kept. Some schools (Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, UGA, Florida, Texas, possibly LSU/A&M) will have 2 permanent annual rivals. Others will have 1. As long as you have an even number of perma-rivals you wont have a scheduling problem.

I'm sure UGA doesn't want to lose their rent-a-win

Glad people are realizing this means change for them too.

Their loss of an annual game is the only huge problem I saw with the SEC network suggestion for pods.
Can y’all be convinced to vote yes?
Put Ga. & Aub. in the same pod - rivalry solved.

Don’t have to lose them. Just do pods with a permanent rival out of each of the other pods.
This isn’t hard to do.
Been saying that forever. & partner up pods each year. 9 game schedule made instantly for every school:
Y1: A/B vrs. C/D (winner of each duo goes to SECCG)
Y2: A/C vrs. B/D (winner of each duo goes to SECCG)
Y3: A/D vrs. B/C (winner of each duo goes to SECCG)
Team A1's schedule
Y1 - A2, A3, A4, B1 (pod B rival), B2, B3, B4, C1 (pod C rival), D1 (pod D rival)
Y2 - A2, A3, A4, C1 (pod C rival), C2, C3, C4, B1 (pod B rival), D1 (pod D rival)
Y3 - A2, A3, A4, D1 (pod D rival), D2, D3, D4, B1 (pod B rival), C1 (pod C rival)

Easy solution: Agree to play OOC in years when they are not scheduled to play.
And that is assuming that we go to pods.. and teams don’t have permanent rivals..
Either way, there is always a solution if you want to keep a game.
WHY should 2 SEC conf. schools NOT play an SEC CONFERENCE game - esp. when it's a historied rivalry in all college fb?
& there IS a solution - KEEP RIVALRIES!!!

Nope. Not at all. Kick out vandy and only take oklahoma

Have to find a way to keep AU/UGA. Whatever it takes.

Permanent opponents destroy the whole pod concept which was designed to play every team every other year at a minimum.
No it's not.....if you can't be in the same pod as your rival, you have a rival in each of the other pods.
So, as pods AB play each other, team A1 can also play their rivals C1 & D1 to fill out their 9 game schedule. When pods AC play each other, team A1 also plays B1 & D1. With AD, A1 also plays B1 & C1.

move bama and au to the east, drop vandy, move the zoo west and take oklahoma. My love of hating Auburn, TN and FL must be reconciled every year.
Also play the damn game in Nov cowards!
