Anyone with half a brain will wait for Alabama's version of Ron Zook to replace Saban before they look at going to Tuscaloosa.

LOL

Keep off the dope. That said, LSU should probably have hired the guy.

As of right now he’s not close to the recruiter Saban is.

Saban wasn't the recruiter Saban is now. Alabama gets probably a third of their players because they're in Dynasty mode, and lots of guys want to be on a winner.

I think the comparison is valid. Saban lives and breathes football. The old story is him drawing up plays on napkins, at his daughter's wedding. No idea if it's true (or if she's even married yet), but that's something I could see Nick doing.

What makes Aranda special is that he's borderline autistic, focused on football, too. That late score on Oklahoma that pissed Riley off- he WASN'T running up the score or rubbing it in. He legit processed it in his head, on the fly-
margin of victory was a possible tiebreaker. Therefore, score again.

Not the slightest concern about it, no vindictive "I'll show you", or even "this might upset the other team". No disrespect, no mean spirit. Just- this is an opportunity to gain more of an advantage this season, I will take it.

He's the type of guy who might design certain kickoff plays based on whether the stadium is windy, just in case.

Recruiting will take care of itself, if/when he starts showing his team wins because he's smarter than his opponent. That's what happened with Saban too.

The last Nick Saban was Bear Bryant, who has been dead for 40 years or so. I am definitely sold on Aranda, but comparing him or anyone to Saban is not fair to them.

As I said in another thread, I’m happy as hell LSU didn’t hire him. They would have been nasty with Aranda.

I’d love to have Dave Aranda replace Saban when that time comes.
