Ranked #1 in 2008 and again last year. Lowest ranking all of last year was #8.
We’re in the midst of our second really nice run this century. And we’ve had a few good years interspersed here and there in between like 2000-01 and 2014. It doesn’t match up with Kentucky or even Florida in terms of overall success, but in terms of consistency we’re easily #3.

"Since the turn of the century", that's still the case.
From 2000 up to 2017, the Vols made the NCAA Tournament 9 times.... 6 of those were during Bruce Pearl's 6-year stint as head coach.
So take away Pearl, and Tennessee made the Tournament just three times during the 12 seasons not coached by Pearl, since the turn of the century, until 2018.
My point stands in that Tennessee has never proven to be a Top Tier SEC Basketball program during any significant period of time outside of Bruce Pearl being head coach.... so let's not act like its been the norm.
Tennessee and Auburn are both not typically in this spot. Kudos to both programs though because it appears your one of the three programs consistently winning in the SEC right now.

Glad Arkansas got rid of MA. I have just never enjoyed watching his teams play though they were always at least decent

We’re talking about sustained/consistent success over the course of 20 years, not getting hot for one week in one year.
