I won’t disagree with that. I don’t see why so many posters (mainly Bama) think that’s such an outrageous comment.

To start - I don’t unequivocally say that USC should go over Ole Miss. But to answer why one could make the argument.
Head to head competition is one data point among many.
It is not the be all to end all. ( Though it arguably should be very important.)
The objective of the CFP committee is to pick the best teams to play in the playoffs based on a number of factors.
If this was a case of Ole Miss OR South Carolina for the last spot, then I’d say it would be easy to pick Ole Miss. But when throwing a third team (Alabama) into the equation things get complicated.
When it comes to Ole Miss vs. USCe, isn't complicated at all. Ole Miss beat the shite out of them at Columbia six weeks ago. This QB that everyone suddenly is jacking off over couldn't even get the ball into the fricking endzone at home against Ole Miss. You want to talk "data points"? There's your data point, and it's pretty fricking big one. Adding a third team into the mix...Alabama...that also beat USCe doesn't complicate things at all as far as USCe is concerned. It's only complicated when choosing between Alabama and Ole Miss.
And as far as the 9 downvotes to my original post, as expected, not a single person has stated a case for including South Carolina instead of Ole Miss.
