Did you not see the AU-Oregon game? Didn't make a difference.

and Auburn didn't have a defense like Alabama does either.

Look at the USCe/Vandy game. You and everybody else knows the transitive property doesn't work in sports.
Plus, Oregon/Washington is a pretty huge rivalry, just in the sense that those two programs really hate each other on a Bama/AU-esque level. It was Washington's Superbowl.

And Oregon's qb is a freshman. Plus Bama is only running tonight 40%phi of the d right now from what im hearing. They would see blitzes that are not on film

I'm not saying he can get it done consistently against SEC defenses with his 150lb RB's and linebackers. Just that he is a hell of a coach with a very solid offensive mind. From what I can tell, definitely on the OCD side

Between the #1 and #2 teams in the nation. You'd expect it to be a close game. Saying you fear him with an extra month to prepare is not backed up by them losing.
It's also worth mentioning that it took them a couple ballsy calls such as fakes and going for it on 4th for it to be that close. Legit ways to score points, but not necessarily evidence that they were well-prepared.

I don't care. They sucked on USC and Florida State's cocks for the first month of the season. I expect West Virginia and Notre Dame to get the suck-fest now...

Im pretty sure Auburn won due to a freak play when it looked like the RB was down which inevitably set them up for a FG. People talk of Oregons offense being shut down in that game but fail to bring up the fact that Oregons defense held Auburn down better than any SEC team did the entire season.

Id be really curious to see a game between Bama and Oregon. Im not sure Bama has the defensive speed to stop Oregon. Would be a good one.

"It was a 3 point game". And that is exactly the point. AU's defense that yr was average at best, giving up 30+ to UK as one example. And that AU defense shut them down cold. LSU shut them down cold last yr, holding Kelly's highpowered offense to only 20 points until a last second TD ( 13 seconds left) scored against LSU's second team defense. They have a great offense, but then so does Ok.St., Houston, Miz last yr, OU, etc etc. And how many NC's have any of those teams won? Coach Bo Pelini, when he was LSU's DC, made this comment when asked why the SEC's speed was such a factor: " every team has a WR or RB that can run a 4.4. in a straight line. SEC defenses can run a 4.4 from sideline to sideline". As evidenced by Mingo, a DE, running down from behind the Duck's speedy RB.

Truth is a lot of these uptempo no-huddle rhythm offenses struggle after nearly a month of no game-action. Especially when you give a good defense a month to prepare for them.

That's how they play the game, every game. And lets not forget Dyer's 30-something yard gimme run (a heads up play by AU to keep the run going and totally legitimate, but you know what I mean).
I do agree that Bama is probably the scarier opponent with a month to prepare, because Oregon is a finesse, don't-know-whats-coming until-it-hits-you type team. But they are no slouches on D this year and are beginning to get some bruisers into the program (Colt Lyerla).
It's not a "soft" team, and it's not a team that is going to just roll over against "3 yards and a cloud of dust" style teams.

This Oregon team is better than the past ones.
This QB is a freshman, he'll win a Nat'l Champ before he's done.

Meh. I'm not in awe from a coach envy angle. Just stating what a lot of people already know. That Kelly's practice routines are relentless and blazing fast just like they play. Some pretty cutting edge S&C shite. Supposedly Gruden was going to take a position there to learn the system and the offense. He practically gushes when he talks about the routine there.
I get that they're developing an Ohio state- esque rep versus SEC teams. Time will tell if that holds. I can definitely see him winning a BCSNC at some point

Here is the Oregon fan chiming in...and I will preface this by saying we'd lose to Bama. However, there are a lot of misnomers.
Oregon is not small on the defensive side of the ball.
Also, it was Matt Millen and he made his opinion base on film study. He has spend a few hours with each coach and broken down film with both. He has watch both teams play.
The oline is much more physical than in the past. Also, Mariota is not Denard Robinson. He does have legit 4.5 speed but he is an excellent thrower.
So, it wouldn't end up like the Cowboy Classic. The team LSU faced in the last year's classic is a shell of this year's team.

Mizzou still thinking like a big 12er...better learn fast that defense rules. Lotta games left...Oregon will lose even with weak schedule.

Great defenses don't necessarily translate into national championships. The team you root for is evidence of that. Just look over the last couple of seasons in both college and pros. Auburn didn't get to the NCG because of defense. Green Bay, New Orleans, and NY won because they have 3 of the best 4 QB's in pro football. Offense is just as important if not more important.
Also i dont understand LSU fans downplaying how good those offenses are considering last season statistically the 2 worst defensive games for LSU were against WVU and Oregon.
