Anybody want to guess what Lane Kiffin's record as a HC is?

Just getting around to reading the SI article on him. He was 40-36 as a head coach, much better than I remembered and all of his offenses performed better when he took over than before.

Hell, he had the Raiders averaging 7 more pts/game than the previous year. Give the guy a couple years under Saban and he'll get another shot.

Wow, a winning percentage of about 53%.

Only a Bama fan could make sunshine out of that.

And the first two responses to this thread are from Auburn fans... not sure that really lends to your theory.

You should be used to that number, as it is just about Nick Marshall's completion percentage.

Insecurity is not usually a trait of arrogance or delusion. You guys meet and decide which it is and then get back to us.

So no problem if he was your HC in 2 years?
Pretty sure all LSU and Auburn fans would be fine with it.

No but I know he was fired twice before mid season

Don't think he even made it out of September year 2 with Oakland

If he continued to have the success he is having with the offense and Saban showed him how to effectively run a program, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

The guy can recruit and coach. It's all the extracurriculars that get him into trouble.

Blake Sims couldn't hit the broad side of a barn a year ago and now he is statically the best quarterback in the conference.

You and I both know:

1. Al Davis' senile corpse was running the Raiders.
2. Who has had success at the raiders in the last 20 years other than Gruden?

AD proved that he was not senile with that firing.

Some mid level school will give him a shot, or he may become an OC in the NFL again if he's successful here. Personally, I think he could be successful as a head coach eventually, but no way I would take that chance as an AD of a traditional power.

He couldn't learn this from Carroll, who has won in college, and the NFL.

I think his maturity level played a part, and now that his ego has taken a few shots, he probably listens a good bit more than under Carroll.

Kiffin will be a good HC, at some point. He's smart and has been around a lot of good coaches. Just got the keys too early.

Pete Carroll was 7-9 in his first two seasons with the Seahawks and talked management into signing Matt Flynn to be the answer at quarterback. With the 49ers and Cardinals in that division, if they don't luck up and draft Russell Wilson in the third round, I'm not sure they make the playoffs.

His career record is 75-60. Only 2% points higher than that of the win/loss record of Kiffin who was ridiculed earlier in the thread.

This is why I laugh when people talk about how Saban was a failure in the NFL. If the Dolphins doctors had signed off on Drew Brees, Saban is probably still in Miami.

That could be true, but like you said, as an AD at a traditional power, I wouldn't trust him. Unless he did have success at a smaller school, for several years. AT LEAST.
