he was out of line, or les wouldn't have responded to it.
No, he wasn't. He was doing what he is paid to do. Analyze the game of football. How Les performs is subject to criticism as is what Saban does. I am agreeing with you people and you are still arguing with me. You LSU fans are a strange bunch sometimes.

Does Miles always take things so personally? He's been ridiculed by the media and LSU fans for years, does he usually respond?
no, he generally only responds to comments made that attack his players or comments like herbsreit made that implied he was leaving the program. the maddest i've ever seen was when a reporter said russell shepard was a bust. while that may be true, les doesn't take kindly to reporters talking badly about his players. saban takes questions and comments much more personally than miles ever has. honestly, miles seems to have embraced the media's portrayal of him and plays along with it.

So why now is Les so bitter over the sentiment of a talking head in his 1st year. Also, Greg is what - 25 years old? That's like me concerning myself with the opinions of 10 year olds.
you're a dumbshit

McElroy wasn't out of line by making a comment at all, but he is not above criticism either. If he wants to work in the media and make a statement like he did, he should be prepared to take heat from it. Les has an obligation as part of his job to make media appearances and provide the best image for his team and program as possible. If he thinks that statement paints himself and the program in a good light and sends a good message, then he wasn't out of line for responding.

what greg mcelroy said was unprofessional and logically retarded.
shite look at your own school! bear bryant was a great coach.... was bama a great team from 92-2009?
NOPE... Saban came in and established his system and coached the team well to wins.
it would be like giving mike shula credit for saban's success... which is completely stupid.

I love LSU. Second favorite team after Bama. I'm so glad we're not rivals. Geaux Tigahs!

This is like an Alabama/Auburn argument except very one-sided.
Still not a rival.

Still not a rival.

How fortunate are LSU fans who have a head coach who will stand on a table for his players?
Les.
Les.

I agree, I don't think either were "out of line". There wasn't anything wrong with what Miles did, he is fully entitled to it and since he decided to respond, I think he handled it as well as possible. A short and classy statement. As I said before though, I just thought it is below him to respond to a 25 year old new media member. It makes a bigger deal out of it than it actually is and in doing so has made Greg a much more relevant name right now, so from Greg's persepctive regardless of what Miles says, it's a success for him.
