I attended a A&M game in Starkville with my BIL who is a big State fan a few years ago. Great atmosphere and they were genuinely shocked they got the win.

I was at that game. God that game sucked.

Croom has to be one of the most random coaches to get a victory over Saban.

Is there a reason you asked this?

Well, I was curious if it was last year or 30 years ago or somewhere in between.

Gotcha. Yeah I mean, clearly people have a soft spot for MSU on here judging by the downvotes, but that was my experience in 2009. Their fans were assholes that day. It was pretty unexpected. Much more hostility than I ever faced in Baton Rouge, Auburn, etc.

I freely admit I pull for MSU if they’re not playing Bama but then again, I’ve never been to a game there with a lot of drunk MSU fans.

Funky you are right about this. Miss St fans, because they’ve been so bad for years, definitely are overly combative when they’re good.

I grew up not far from Starkville. I have a few good Miss St friends but I’ve also spent many a Saturday watching Miss St fans absolutely show their arse if they get anything resembling a glimmer of hope

I lived in Carrollton, GA for about 8 years and Georgia fans were and probably still are THE worst in terms of arrogance. Even with Bama beating them more times than not, I still had Georgia fans coming up to me and talking smack. I remember one year, I was on my front porch on Halloween handing out candy and this 8 year old kid dressed as a UGA football player comes up to me (I was wearing a Bama hat) and says loudly, "We're gonna kick your f*cking asses this year!".

The kid's parents were standing right there smirking. I just looked at the kid and told him, "Well, you guys haven't been able to beat us in years, so we'll see.".
