TXAM fans should consider themselves lucky to even be in the SEC... Know your place, and no, you are not big six nor a founder of the conference

I am NOT driving to Missouri or Texas A&M from Auburn no matter how much YOU think that we would for your personal paychecks each month. And I am sure the frick not booking a flight and flying to those locals...complete waste of valuable time and money.

We NEVER had to think about this before on the Plains because just going to GA, TN, and FL were very easy to do.

Just because you aren't traveling doesn't mean others won't. Also, I'm pretty sure most people visit neighboring states more than those 2+ away.

As much as the West complains about Vandy & Kentucky, how many times has the East heard y'all say anything POSITIVE about Miss. & MSU football (other than an instant "W" on the schedule) in almost 24 years?

Also, how many times do we hear about y'all playing Kentucky in basketball yearly?

Quit bitching about moving Auburn to the East and start bitching about how asinine divisions are

other than going to a 9 game conference schedule, "eliminating" divisions is the answer to the long term problem we have in the SEC; the problem is not travel distance but that some teams don't meet often enough to be in the same conference. there needs to be a core schedule and a rotating schedule or simply a rotating schedule. this should change every year AND the two champs playing in Atlanta should be based on overall SEC record. rivalries would still happen; just not every year. and new rivalries would begin.

we are either a conference or not. imo, we are a conference in revenue splitting only. it seems that in MOST YEARS the best two teams are not meeting in Atlanta. the east champ has been getting slaughtered. that certainly could change but it will still likely result in the best two teams not meeting.

imo, the SEC championship game should be played by the best two teams. that can only be determined by a complete round robin (not feasible) or rotating the teams as much as possible.

as long as the present scenario is producing record dollars, the aren't going to change shite btw

That won't work because no 2 teams will have similar enough schedules to tell who's better than whom.....much less figuring it out for 14 members.
Also, all the tiebreakers needed to sort that out.....

Tennessee would smoke the dog shite out of Auburn this season.

Also, it was brought up and laughed about according to Volquest reporters who were down at the meeting.

Auburn to the East is not happening according to Sankey. Deal with it and quit sounding like an abused girlfriend with two black eyes.

Happy Sunday btw

Can we just trade Auburn for North Carolina?

You have bitched about this more than LSU fans ever did about Florida.

To answer your question...yes, there was news.

Sankey completely shot down the notion

All of these problems stem from the fact that 14 teams is quickly approaching a # too big to even have a conference.

Coaches and AD's shouldn't have been such gigantic pussies and gone to 9 conference games.

If you keep divisions, each division is basically its own conference (and you don't play the other side enough to maintain competitive balance).

If you wanna do away with divisions, well, you still have the balance problem with only 8 games and 14 teams.

14 is just too big to have one cohesive conference. You're going to have to accept some quirks and compromises if you want 14, and that's what we have. Going to 9 games would alleviate many of those, but the short sighted AD's refused.

It's the following:

A - only a 12 game season
B - only an 8 conf. game season
C - 14 isn't an easy # to work with (particularly tied with points A & B).

Have they actually addressed this problem?

Which problem, the one where Auburn fans are whining incessantly?

Yes, they said, "Auburn isn't going anywhere, get over it."

Missouri in the East was a pitiful decision that other fans in the SEC have had to live with as far as travel and costs are concerned.

besides them being west of the Mississippi.

U can't have 14 teams and only 8 conference games. The NFL expands, they lengthen the season. Went from 12 to 14 now 16 games.

This talk of 16 teams is stupid unless u go to 12 conference games. With "super conferences" you need NFL type scheduling. The SEC has too many teams. This shite is ruining college football.

I think there are more games in basketball. You may need to take your shoes off to add up the games, or take my word for it.

NFL is a little bit easier to work with since that is the player's job. They don't have to worry about getting an education as well.

16 teams makes scheduling easier in that you can play the entire conference in 3 years, full H/H in 6, & keep pretty much all rivalries active. This will pretty much require/force a 9 game schedule.

However, I will agree with you in that the SEC SHOULD HAVE figured out a scheduling format BEFORE TA&M & Mizz. played their 1st SEC conf. games.

Unfortunately, reducing the # of teams increases the # of conferences & increases the # of non-conf. games.
