Maybe some coach can perfect the Tim Tebow "Jump Pass" with those measurable's, although they didn't seem to work out for the original very well. Perhaps TE is the way to start.

How does that make sense? If he is a talent, not starting him is clearly dumber than starting him.

Not if he isn't doing enough to try to help his team to win games.

Tebow was viewed with a ton of skepticism by draft experts at the time. Being big is really they only thing the two share.

Even as a Tiger fan I would have liked to see the guy have some success in the league but it just never was gonna happen so it seemed

He wasn't as bad as his reputation is, but he needed to be more flexible to actually have a career.

Yes, that is where he failed to lead his team to win or do a good job of being a successful quarterback in college. Florida had the talents and don't tell me he sucked at critical situation because there were no talents around him.

That one year he actually played was must see TV though. So many crazy arse finishes in one season.

He turned around a really bad team too. Can't remember the record when he took over but it was bad.

Someone tell this guy the year is 2023 and most QBs play a very different style of football now.

Somebody tell this guy Tom Brady won the super bowl 2 years ago.
And that Patrick Mahomes had a 30 inch vertical, a 4.8 40 and an "athleticism" score of just 74, which was just 7th for QBs the year he was drafted.

A super athlete does not a quarterback make. His broad jump tied Arkansas' Matt Jones. His vertical broke the QB record set by Brad Smith.
Two guys who ended up at WR.

I'm going to laugh my arse off at whoever wastes their first round pick on him.

Is he also good at things QBs have to do well, or is he just athletic?

Sounds like you're telling me athleticism isn't required to be a good QB. I don't disagree. But it never hurts and the more you have the better.

Billy Napier addresses Florida staff openings at start of spring practice

"Last month, the Gators saw 3 assistant coaches leave for NFL opportunities. Napier was quick to bring in Austin Armstrong as the new defensive coordinator but has yet to hire new position coaches at tight end and wide receiver.
Napier addressed the situation after Saturday’s practice. The second-year Florida coach said he won’t rush the hires.

“I’m not just going to flip a coin and hire a guy,” Napier said. “If we have the person in place that we think is capable, we make those moves quickly. If we don’t, then we’re going to be very thorough. So we’re making progress in that area. We should have some news here shortly.”

For now, off-field staffers are stepping into the on-field roles.

“We’re built to handle the attrition to some degree,” Napier told reporters. “The layers that you’ve got in each room, whether it’s analyst or graduate assistant or a student, whatever we have in each of those rooms, we’ve been able to manage it. Still, it’s evident we need a coach or two there. But we’re going to be patient and work hard but work smart at it.”

Assessing Florida’s staff situation
No staff wants to hold a spring practice down multiple position coaches. The longer Florida is without a wide receivers coach or tight ends coach, the more concerning the situation gets. It helps, though, that Napier built up the off-field staff at Florida upon arriving in Gainesville.

Napier’s off-field “army” of staffers has been celebrated by UF fans as a sign of the former Alabama assistant following Nick Saban’s blueprint. Last August, Florida’s team photo went viral for the number of assistants featured.

Staff size helps, but the situation is still suboptimal.

As Napier said, the team needs a couple more coaches. Spring practices are key to player development, and the receivers and tight ends should be working with their position coaches.

If the situation drags on, perhaps we see Napier, a former wide receivers coach at Alabama, work with that unit. There’s always a chance, too, that the staffers currently filling in could be promoted to fill the vacancies.

Is this really a good idea to wait it out? Is he getting scared and might get fired if he hires assistants that might backfired on him?

Nothing I just saw this article and brought it up that Napier might be the real problem to why your football program didn't do very well, and that Anthony Richardson wasn't the problem it was Napier all along!
