Going to be hilarious when LSU gets sued by an unvaxxed person with a negative test catching Covid from a vaxxed person at an LSU game. Brilliant move to jump into the realm of acting like you are providing a safe environment instead of just telling people that they can come at their own risk. I can see some trial lawyers already getting their ads together now for the boon to come.

US 7th Circuit ruled 3-0 in favor of Indiana University COVID-19 mandates. The 3 Justices were all Strict Conservative Juris, 1 a Reagan appointee and 2 Trump appointees. SCOTUS Associate Justice Barrett, another Trump appointee denied the appeal of the IU students thus it was not deemed necessary for the SCOTUS to hear the appeal. The 7th Circuit ruling cited legal precedent from a 1905 case where SCOTUS ruled in favor of the State of Massachusetts vs. a group of MA residents to mandate the small pox vaccine.

If Trial lawyers try this they are very bad lawyers as the Federal Courts have already ruled that States have under the 10th amendment powers of having local policing powers to issue health mandates.

I am an LSU season ticket holder and I am, after consultation with my Doctor, vaccinated. Still undecided if I will go to LSU home games early on, first 2 games. Likely wait and see how things here shake out and plan on going to the LSU/Auburn game first week in October and show my vaccine proof to enter.

People who don't agree with LSU's Regulations, that is their right and business, an stay home and watch it on TV.

The lack of discussion surrounding obesity as it relates to COVID outcomes is almost criminal. It is, by FAR, the single biggest determining factor. Anyone who denies that should never open their mouth about “the science”, because they don’t give a shite about science or data.

Completely agree. I am all for people getting the vaccine if they want it. Can we also please talk about the most important factor contributing to the amount of people dying from this virus?

Doubt it, just buy a vaccine card on Chimes street before the game.

Does this mean they’re checking IDs against the Vax card? Or is this just more political posturing that serves zero purpose other than to inconvenience people in the name of sCiEnCe?

By no ways do I think you shouldn't get vaccinated, but I'm past concern for those without vaccinations. In the name of Science I say we open up the flood gates and let those die who decided the vaccination was some government plan to control guns. The world will be a better place. The only downside is this isn't quite Darwinism as several of the people I've watched die from COVID who were opposed to vaccinations have already reproduced. Can't win them all I suppose.

I’m not buying shite. I’ll just take a picture of yours.

I’m fully vaxxed, for the record. But I think this shite is dumb AF.

It's just proof of vaccination. A copy/photo will be sufficient.

Good because my vaccine card, while small, doesn't exactly fit into my wallet without trying to fold it. It would be much easier to fold up a copy on copy paper or just show a picture of my card.

Plus, I don't want to lose my actual vaccine card.

We are talking about the vaccine.

Granted if you want to blame obesity, good fricking luck getting anyone to allow you to let them know what they can or cannot eat.

If you work from home and don't leave other than to get your test then go to the game and come home and have Covid you can prove it.

People who are refusing to leave their homes and having no interactions with anyone over a week's time are not the people going to college football games with tens of thousands of people unvaccinated.

quote:
You have the school creating a situation where they are acting like they have a Covid safe environment by requiring the documentation. If they just let people attend at their own risk they have no potential liability.

The latter is much riskier from a liability standpoint. The back of every ticket, regardless, has language about liability and attending games at your own risk

For the first point it only takes a handful out of 100k to make it very, very expensive.

For the second point you are simply incorrect. It makes going to a game the same as going to a store. You don't have to "show your papers" got get a haircut or buy groceries or anything else. Put up a sign out front if you want as well just to make it more clear.

BTW I think it is stupid to sue over something like this but I can think of plenty of other more stupid things people sue and get paid over. It's just foolish to even play the game.

Oh, and it's going to be fun as the boosters are already coming out and will soon be required as well. You want it you are going to get it, it's really hard to close Pandora's Box, I don't know why people haven't figured that out yet.

Of course the other thing is that it is insanely easy to fake a vax card and even easier to fake a test result. I'm sure the $15/hr folks at the front trying to review 100k people with papers though will be thorough.

It's just all kinds of stupid regardless of whether or not you think vaccines are good and that people should get them.

That’s a great plan, except 99% of them will survive anyway.

However, there is a big difference between private companies and the government. Especially when it comes to what can be used in a court of law and how easily it can be obtained etc.

The only things on the app are your drivers license and vaccine card which, shocker, the government already has access to. Keep being paranoid though. You can buy a lot of tin foil with what you'll save on tickets this year.

Nope. That particular aspect can’t easily be leveraged into more political power. That’s how this works.

Would be fun, but if LSU does what they did last year, tailgating is out too

Yeah, but if they’re gonna let you in the gate are they gonna stop tailgating?

You mean it’s weird that State institutions make decisions for the public? Is this a new concept?

I've never seen anyone asked for a hard copy. Any sort of proof is fine.

Well you have a point, Bill Mahr the other night has 2 far left guess and he got into it with them for suggesting obesity and people being too fat are statistically associated with increased probability to dying from COVID-19, close to 50% Obese, you add diabetic and you get 70%.

He said he got vaccinated but will not take the Booster as he feels that his immune system with one vaccine, given he is healthy, should have time to strengthen and fight this virus on its own. His guests got really upset with him and to his credit he did not back down. Almost like he is getting Red Pilled

You want check points every time you cross the state line? People randomly accosting you on the street?

That’s where this is heading.
