Looks like good football from both young men. But what can you do. Feel bad for any young man having to sit out after working hard all season.

If you watch the video slowly and pause it you can clearly see he does (even if for a moment) leave his feet, with both off the ground at the same time.

No it is that Bama players always get the most lenient punishment or none at all. The hit on tenn’s qb is targeting if white’s is targeting. Both players left their feet, that is this most shite stupid explanation yet.

If white had thrown punches like gumps, he would be ejected and serving game suspension enforced by the league office and LSU. There would be no handling it internally.

Sec is shite and LSU should find a new league. I have no problem losing if it is fair, but those guys work to hard to not have equal enforcement of the rules on all teams.

It is 100% common and possible for both feet to be simultaneously off the ground while sprinting.

Will not be considered by corndogs. Will be downvoted by corndogs. They're too emotional right now. Why waste your time?

He left his feet

No he didn't, his left foot comes down just before shoving the QB with his hands.

Face it, it was a terrible call regardless of Wilson's play.

I agree. I don't think White's launch (leaving both feet) was very upward, very significant or intense (didn't appear to cause more force) or intended to cause a hit to the head and neck area. Also, White pushed Fitz with his hands as he hit him, which appeared to substantially reduce the impact of White's helmet hitting Fitz.

As a result of those two factors, the head to neck area contact looked borderline and not forcible, imo. I doubt there'd be much complaining if the booth had overturned the targeting call. If it was up to me, I would've overturned it.

Perhaps the SEC office should just let Orgeron handle it internally.

He did not launch, but if that’s what some have to conclude to justify the call so be it. Fritz was actively throwing the ball. White saw it, raised his hands and elevated to block the pass. Nothing more.

No player shall target and make forcible contact to the head or neck area of a defenseless opponent (See Note 2 below) with the helmet, forearm, hand, fist, elbow or shoulder. This foul requires that there be at least one indicator of targeting (See Note 1 below). When in question, it is a foul (Rules 2-27-14 and 9-6). (A.R. 9-1-4-I-VI)

Leading with helmet, shoulder, forearm, fist, hand or elbow to attack with forcible contact at the head or neck area

Looks like they followed the rule dead-on to me. If LSU fans were objective they would say the same thing, unfortunately their panties are all twisted up over this and they can't think straight.

I don't agree with the rule because it allows for accidental elbows/forearms to the upper chest to appear as targeting if the play is dissected THAT closely, but they followed the rule no less.

It was not about "launching" or having his head up or down in this instance as the OP claims, it was called for White leading with his elbow and forearm straight into Fitz's neck and throat.

Read the rules people!! There's nothing about "launching" at the opponent or having a head up or down involved here. Its all about the forearm and elbow.

Wow. I hadn't noticed White's hand/wrist contacting Fitzgerald's neck area. Maybe that more than anything else is what kept the call from being overturned.
