Your post is right on the money IMO.
Also, the biggest thing about this mess, is that A FEW PRIVILEGED PEOPLE put Bama in this game and left out OSU or Stanford.
Several coaches and several human poll voters in the BCS voted Oklahoma State 5th or 6th........

They were #3 in all the polls, including the BCS, so had these selfish stupid-arse pricks voted Oklahoma State 3rd, OSU would have been in the Dome Monday night, not the 2nd place SEC Western Division finisher........

Yeah they did. I have no issues with that at all. However, it is a little weird to have a NC without a division or conference championship.

True but the 2 best teams played in the NC game. That's the only thing that matters.

It's unique for sure. Kinda like having a BCSNC winner with 2 losses was unique as well, don't you think?

Debateable. They were a STRONG 1 in the computers so alot of the voters would've had to drop them a few spots.
Ark wouldn't have moved ahead of Bama and Bama owned the head to head. Face it, Petrino is a good coach and better than Nutt but there's no need to act like y'all were ever going to win the West.

Nice post and one that I agree with 100%.
While Bama clearly proved that they deserved to be in the game and clearly proved that they were the best team in the country Monday night, the BCS System is clearly flawed.
If you are going to allow re-matches in a championship game then there has to be a play-off. In every single other sport, the top ranked team has built in advantages to making it to and playing in the championship game.
It is completely unfair and a ridiculous system when the lower ranked team and the team previously beaten gets a free pass to the game without having to play in a play-off game (SEC Title game) as LSU did to get there.
But, it is what it is and life isn't fair, so we LSU fans just have to deal with it.

If you can't get up for a NC after having 37 days off, you don't deserve to be there.
Not to mention it was basically a HOME game for LSU.

I think the only debatably unfair thing was having to beat Bama twice in two months... if you are LSU and Arkansas is good you will have to beat three top 10-15 teams to close the year if you are going to win the SEC and a bowl game
I do think that having two teams from teh same conference in the BCS NCG is an option of absolutely last resort (and Ok State was a credible alternative that deserved a shot)... but LSU was incredibly ineffective in the first half against UGA (dominated by the Dogs frankly) and was held under 100 yards of total offense and zero points against Alabama
You just don't deserve to be a NC if you close the year getting crushed... at least not under the scenario we saw this year (I suppose some even whackier scenario could make a liar out of me)
