This happens every year, I do not see the police letting this happen, the fights that would break out because of this would be at a mind numbing level.

Historic Oaks (that are older than you and I combined) were poisoned...which btw, is a fricking FELONY.
With all due respect. Nothing really "historic" about it.

When the team returned to Auburn after the win, the intersection was covered in toilet paper. That's where it began. At first, it was only for the truly big road wins. Fans tossed toilet paper on the power lines. Rolling the trees themselves didn't start until the mid-198s, when the city buried its utilities.
30 year tradition? Not exactly older than dirt. And if the city had never buried the power lines, they would have stuck to that. Jus' sayin.

Actually the University website says 1989.

Police can't stop the Gumps(bama fans even bama fans hate)

How about "No Police Presence"

The two oak trees have always been a part of Toomers Corner dumbass.

I will be standing guard at Toomer's waiting on a gump to try to roll the trees. We will get our asses kicked on the field, but I will be extra pissed and motivated to kick some gump arse afterwards.

Only in the great state of Alabama could this happen!
Posted on 11/22/11 at 5:48 pm to RollTideRockStar
Well, it started back in the 50's when Toomer's Drug would throw the Wire Service paper with all of the scores on it over the telephone lines. Then it started growing from there into what it is today.

Did superman get the the ban?

If they obtain permission to roll the trees, the Auburn police would actually be forced to keep the Auburn fans AWAY from Toomer's while the Alabama fans are rolling the trees.

Do you really believe this is going to happen?

This same petition is ordered almost every other year and every other year it gets buried.
Posted on 11/22/11 at 6:00 pm to TheJones
I never said I believe it would happen. And it won't. In fact, as soon as the game is over, I'm sure you'll see cops surrounding that tree so that no Alabama can get to it. That's assuming, of course, Alabama wins.

You do realize most of the APd are AU grads...petition or not...they would stop it.

Why would any REAL Alabama fan want to go anywhere near those trees? That is ridiculous. What's next, Singing Country Roads or blowing the steam whistle?

The WVU couch burners would enjoy this.
