I won't totally agree with you, but I think he has been overhyped. Don't get me wrong, he's very good, but to label him the greatest back in the last ten years is a little off in my opinion.
He wasn't even the best RB in the SEC. M. lattimore and maybe even Knile Davis or Monte Ball are better now. I think most oh his followers became so mainly because of his measurables, build, and weight room dominance.
I think people quickly forget how great A. Peterson, D. Mcfaddon, S. Jackson, and Ray Rice were in college. I'm just not sold yet that he will be as good as A. Peterson, which is probably the closest comparison by build. Most of his best runs came in the passing game in wide open situations which I don't think he will see a lot of in the pros. It seems as though on running plays he is in the backfield forever just like when we got so many tackles-for-loss on him.
Only time will tell.

So a guy that played in 7 games last season and a guy that missed the entire season are better than Richardson is right now? You cant say they are better when they didnt even play. Lattimore could be better but hes not right now. Richardson had 1680yds and averaged 5.9 YPC last year. With 21 rushing TDs in the SEC West. And I wont even put Monte Ball in the same category as TRich because he wasnt in the SEC so nobody cares.
And nobody forgot how good AP and Run DMC were. To put it in perspective, AP's best season he ran for 1925yds on 339 carries with 15 TDs.Run DMC best season he ran for 1830yds on 325 carries for 16 TDs. TRich ran for 1680 yds on 283 carries for 21 TDs. He has a better YPC average and more TDs on less carries. Im not saying he is going to be as good as those 2 are, but he is def the same caliber of back as they were in college.

I am not impressed with Trent Richardson.
Primarily because I'm an LSU fan and Richardson will never play LSU again, so I see no reason to be impressed or otherwise GAF about him.
If I were an NFL fan I might be though.

The highly touted college-to-NFL running back is a dying breed. They don't seem to produce like they used to. Yes Trent was a beast in college but I don't expect him to set the league on fire or even be in the top 10 statistically like Ingram won't

So an injured player can't be better only because he's injured? Tell that to Peyton Manning. I guess he's not better than 98% of because he's been injured.
I get he has put up nice stats. Does Lattimore or Davis run behind a line as great as Trent's? Maybe he will be great, but Lattimore's style fits what I like in a big back.
IMO, he is great back and I give him that, but I just think Lattimore is better now and will be the better pro.

Trent always had trouble breaking tackles. I was less than impressed with him whenever he played Arkansas. Can't think of a time when he truly shined in this league...

most certainly

Although the spin move of Eddie Lacy will make the world forget about Trent, yes you are way off base

Based on the responses, this thread appears to have been started by a ranter on the Tiger Rant.
Admins trying to stir the pot by moving it. For shame.

Come to think of it, I think he always struggled vs Ole Miss as well.

Trent got his yards against Ole Miss after Fowler had worn them down.

Does Lattimore or Davis run behind a line as great as Trent's?

Were not talking about Peyton Manning, an NFL QB who has proven on every level that he is 1 of the all time greats. We are talking about a sophomore in college, who is returning from a torn ACL, and has played against some decent D in the east, and 1 great D in Bama during the 2010 season. And im not saying Lattimore wont be or cant be as good because he def can. But I need to see some more from him before I put him ahead of the #1 RB in the draft, top 10 pick, and Heisman finalist. He is Bama's all time TD leader. And what would of happened if Alabama gave TRich 30+ carries a game like USCe does to Lattimore? His "nice stats" would of turned into ridiculous stats, better than APs or Run DMCs. And I like Kniles Davis, but there is no way he is in the same category as TRich or Lattimore. I wouldnt be surprised if Lattimore ends up hurt again because of the pounding he takes at USCe. Its ridiculous. He will have a lot of miles on him by the time he goes pro.

I really think TJ Yealdon will go higher in the draft than Richardson but that does not diminish Trent career in the SEC

If that's the case, then that post broke more monitors than Trent broke tackles.
