Not only are Texans not Southern they don't even know how to BBQ properly. Beef?? pfft......Not!
What is it with you Arky people not knowing that BBQ is a method of cooking and has nothing to do with the meat you use?

I never felt like we belonged in the SWC but feel right at home in the SEC. Contrary to what some believe, we've never been in the Big 12 and screw the Big 12.
...and Missouri will compete but it may take a while.

:kige:
The best BBQ, IMO, is brisket. There's a place here in Atlanta that makes the best brisket that I've ever tried. The owners are from Texas.

They are one year in, how is this almost 2 years?
And why is this a discussion?

Whatever the meat, it needs to be charred IMO. Anyway, that's the way I like it.

Now please end this shitfest thread that happens every week. Homeboy above said all that needs saying, the other six pages is bullshite.
How were South Carolina and Arkansas in their first year? In their first five years? This shite is a non-issue.

Cat's being really defensive about her affluent upbringing. That's the liberal in her...the rich "guilt".
Embrace it, Cat!

Arkansas feels like part of the SEC. The Cocks felt out of place for the longest time, but with Spurrier there they are STARTING to fit in. TAMU fit in right away. Mizzou is like USCe in that it is going to take them a long time and they are going to have to be consistently good for a number of years before they are accepted.

I'm done with this silly thread.

Missouri. SEC East. 'nuff said.
Slive jumped the gun on this one. No reason to have them in the conference. We already can nationally recruit because we're the minor leagues of the NFL, so I don't see what the St.Louis/Kansas City TV markets really do for you. They will improve because no one can stand being embarrassed like they were last year. (Was shocked when I was reminded that they could have gone to the 2007 BCSNC if not for a loss against Oklahoma in the final week of the season). Competition does inherently make you better, they'll come around, but I don't see why we had to be the ones to raise them up just for symmetry's sake (even number of teams).

Arkie's entrance to the league:
1992: 3-7-1, including a loss to The Citadel in home opener. Mizzou last year was like Saban's Bama in comparison to that shite.
1993: 6-4-1
1994: 4-7
1995: 8-5 (that won the division? Shitty division that year I guess??)
1996: 4-7
1997: 4-7
South Carolina's entrance into the league:
1992: 5-6
1993: 5-6
1994: 7-5
1995: 4-6-1
1996: 6-5
1997: 5-6
1998: 1-10
1999: 0-11
Seems to me the bar is set very low by those two for lil' ol' Mizzou. Be mediocre for 5 or 6 years and pull only one bowl out of our arse and we'd *still* be on pace.
