Going 6-3 in the SEC next year (.667) would be better than historical averages for everyone except Alabama and yet at least half of the teams would see it as a disappointment.

I'm sure you're right. Things certainly worked out for the decade after Kiffin left Tennessee. For the next 10 seasons, Tennessee was 60-22 (26-56)...I'm sure Ole Miss will be fine.
