This is about MLB career, not Olympic amateur career.

One game doesn't cancel out a disappointing career. Nobody thinks Trent Dilfer was some great QB just bc the Ravens defense carried him to a Super Bowl win, ya dig?

Trent Dilfer was not a great QB...but I also wouldn't consider him a "bust". A "bust" is a #1 pick wasted on someone who never makes it to the Majors, or washes out in a season or two.

Heath Shuler or Ryan Leaf would be considered "busts. Trent Dilfer made a probowl and threw for over 20,000 yards in his career. So...no, I wouldn't consider Trent Dilfer a bust.

I didn't say Dilfer was a bust. But Hochever is. Just using Dilfer as an example that one game doesn't make a player better than the results of the rest of their career

I know Mississippi State had signage change on the outfield wall yesterday and put the number 15 for how many first rounds picks.

Mississippi State is likely counting Del Unser who was drafted in the 1st round of the June Secondary draft in 1966 after he didn't sign as a 2nd round pick in the 1965 draft.

There had been only one, all-encompassing phase over the life of the draft, as presently exists. From 1966 to 1986, the baseball draft was split into four phases—a regular and secondary phase in January, and a regular and secondary phase in June. The June, regular phase has always been the attention-getter

I would venture to say by the end of their careers one of the current guys out there will be in the HOF. It’s possible they won’t be but that’s my guess.

Honestly, I'd say not.

At this point in their careers, Albert Belle and Will Clark looked to be first-ballot HOF'ers. It takes a lot more to get in.

Best LSU player so far, would have to be Belle IMO. Biggest surprise would have to be Ben McDonald, I just knew he was going to be the next Roger Clemons. Just never clicked.
