All SMU had to do is win what little ranked games they had

They failed both times. When you play a sos ranked in the 80's, you almost have zero room for error. Alabama has proven they can beat ranked opponents despite the 2 bad losses. SMU has proven they can not. Alabama is the better choice for a matchup "upset" against a ranked opponent.

Alabama is 3-1 vs. Top 25. SMU 0-2. When you're on the bubble like both teams, ranked wins matters.

Well plus all the ranked teams, point being Bama’s road here was far more difficult than 90% of the jokes in the playoff including and especially SMU

it's kind of surprising how much Alabama fans are willing to grovel for the last spot in a 12 team playoff.

Again, when you're on the bubble like both teams, ranked wins matters. If this were basketball, it would be an easy choice. Despite the bad losses, Alabama has proven it can hang with the top. SMU has yet to prove that with no more games remaining.

Won regular season title. So why shouldn't they be given a chance . Not sure where Bama came in in SEC , what top 4 maybe? SMU def has regular season resume.

SMU should be rewarded for regular season accomplishment. Bama did nothing during regular season. SMU was def a lot more fun to watch.

They played a sos ranked in the 80's and lost every top 25 game they needed to help their resume. You can say Alabama is not deserving, but SMU is not deserving either. This is why both are fighting for the very last spot. Alabama has proven it can win big games this season, SMU has not.

Bama made Vandy and Oklahoma are power houses. Bamas beat brakes off LSU then LSU dominates both Vandy and Oklahoma. Bama needs to sit this one out.
