I may have hoped he would just because I would have been amused by A&M fans acting like Haynes King was the only piece missing from being a championship caliber team last year, but I wouldn't say I ever expected Max to start.
I do still think it's unlikely that Haynes King lives up to the hype that they've place upon him though. Especially given all that we've actually seen (2021 stats and spring game)

I am very skeptical of King's decision making. It has been pretty bad in the little we have seen him play thus far.

Max didn't pick up the offense as quick as I thought he would yet still took King to the wire.
He will take over at some point this season, I'm thinking probably somewhere around the Miami-Arkansas-Mississippi State part of their schedule.
And then I will bump this thread.

With King's propensity to run, if he isn't careful to not take big hits, he will get injured again, and Max will take the reins.

So you were wrong. Way to move the goal posts. In actuality, picking him to take over in the season is different from picking him to be the starting QB when the season starts. You can bump it, but it doesn’t make you right.
Most knew that King had a season with Jimbo’s offense, but somehow that flew by you.
Max may very well take over especially if King gets hurt again, but your perceived knowledge of A&M’s quarterback situation is lacking.
