re: Alabama's defense will not be great unlike what many think.

Lets logically think about this. Alabama’s defense has arguably been weak at linebacker the past two seasons.
Our best has been Christian Harris who is only a junior this season. Moses missed 19 and was hurt in 20.
Now, we have To’o (top 5 lb in SEC), Will Anderson should be a more rounded player not just a pass rusher, and Harris is only going to be better.
Our secondary really came together at the end of they year and we added/return a lot of talent from that group.
Our D line is filthy and completely loaded 2/3 deep.

There's always people who are "unreachable" but Alabama/Saban could just about have their pick.
Certainly you don't believe Golding is the best they could do, at least I hope you dont.

It would be odd to think that he wasn't, at least at the time of hire. It is not as if Saban would be negligent.

As you say, Bama will definitely be at least slightly improved for sure from 2020. Number 1 in scoring defense in the SEC and 4th best in country among power 5 schools in 2020 giving up points. They will be improved from 2020.
Very Talented defense and extremely deep. Developing a consistent interior pass rush and if Jobe or one of the other corners really steps up, this could be one of the best defenses there has been in college football in the last 5 years.
Will Anderson(Sophomore) has a chance to be the Number One pick in the draft in 2 years. There are multiple starters that have a legitimate chance to be first round draft picks.
Seriously the second team group would be a very good defense in it’s own right. Koolaid, Braswell, Branch,Tim Smith among others will be stars of the future.

Saban makes bad hires from time to time, Major Applewhite stands out as one.
I feel like Bammers are taking it as some kind of slight when it's really not, I just find it odd that Saban hired and then has stuck with Golding when there are clearly better defensive coordinators out there that Alabama could likely hire.

Saban’s demeanor tells me he’s not worried about the defense in the slightest.
And I think, at the very least, the DL will wreck opponents which will help out the rest of the defense tremendously.

I'm actually baffled that you're getting so defensive over this.
My statement was only that I found it odd that Alabama hired Golding as its defensive coordinator when there were better options out there.
