Hey, we are making headway. Yes, the tie breaker is used to determine who represents the division or conference.
However, in both college and the NFL, the teams that tie still win that division.
The team that loses in OVERTIME (not a tie breaker) loses that game
The player(s) that are still playing the game in sudden SUDDEN DEATH PLAYOFF, lose.
Alabama and Auburn tied at the end of the season record wise, so both are west division champions, they did not play another game to break the tie......
This is not a hard concept.....

Didn’t have too Au won head to head. Everyone knew the rules, winner take all. If there is a tie in the NFL Divisions, do they play an extra game. Do both team make the playoff (if not a wildcard winner)? Do both teams claim Divisional Champs?

Auburn claims the co-division title from 2005 and 2001 (a 7-5 season too).

Why did you even bring up the NFL? In college both teams claimed division titles. AU has on 2 occasions.

The NCAA lets any team claim what they want in football. Have they ever said anything about Bama's 17 or would they have said anything about AU claiming 4 more NC? SEC keeps quiet about this also.

Do you know what years the Notre Dame series would likely be for? I know Notre Dame makes its schedules out way in advance, sometimes more than a decade for certain series.

Where is that NCAA Trophy. I think they give one out for every other sport. They do not recognize any champion in football, their website list other services that do.
