Apparently Dwight Howard has pledged to rebuild ten homes in Tuscaloosa.

He showed up and threw a BBQ for people to come out. He also helped work on repairing some homes in Birmingham....

A BAMA video one of my friends had posted on his facebook wall. It's mainly sports related but has tornado damage clips in it.

I am joining my sons kindergarten class at Dairy Queen this afternoon, his class of 15 kids here in Nova Scotia won the lunch for raising the most money for Alabama Tornado relief ($952.00). I am very proud of my boy.

That's the first I've seen that. Hate to say it, but I hope a news organization picks this up and investigates where the money has been used. Hopefully, all of it went to where it was intended and there's nothing to it.

I hope so too because my employer donated about $1000.00 worth of electrical materials to help them get power up and running to their warehouse in Tuscaloosa. I would not want our business associated with any shady dealings.

It made WVUA last night.

I'm sure that's just the beginning.

Was the saying it was a case of funds or donations not going where they were supposed to or unaccounted for or more a fight for whose idea it was? I hope and pray it's something petty and not a case where some money was pocketed.

I don't know the total amount of debris from the tornado, but The City of Tuscaloosa's facebook pages say that the city has removed 505,824.71 cubic yards of debris as of June 24, 2011.
