I have been hearing a lot about the Alabama Tennesse rivarly lately. What makes it so special from an historic standpoint? Has any SEC or national championships been on the line when this game has been played throughout the years?

Growing up in the 70's it was always the game my parents and grandparents referred to as the game they always looked forward to. Always the one they made the big deal over. We didn't know any Auburn fans in the 1970's but we knew Tennessee fans.

Pat Dye said something to the tune of - When I took over as coach at Auburn you couldn't find a bumper sticker or hat with Auburn on it. I meant to change that.

I guess he did. I didn't meet my first Auburn fan until I was freshman at UA. I guess thats why I prefer the UT-UA game. However, I am old enough and wise enough to know the UA-AU game means more to the state of Alabama. Frankly, I don't care who Alabama plays - as long as I get to watch or attend the game.

Don't you know that all their victories from when people wore leather helmets mean that the current games are more interesting?

Dumbass.

I personally wouldn't mind having a recess from the game until Saban leaves. Losing to them is just too painful.

You need a very special coach to put 12 players on the field, but this is a special rivalry, featuring special schools, with special fans, and special posters, and a special Internet message board.

I think Keith Jackson said it best when he called the UA/UT game the "Quintessential College Football Game" I guess because its just old school
