I think most football fans rather watch Oregon and Ohio State this year, than Alabama. Just both better on offense, better QBs.
Your argument would be similar to Duke tryiugn to argue they belong in national title game after losing to Mercer in first round of tournament, because they had a better regular season resume over UCONN and Kentucky.
Given Bama has won 3 recent titles, no reason to be greedy. Bama will be ok.
