I guess that's to be determined. I can't really tell you if Gmac is better than anyone on the roster yet. I'll know for sure 3-4 games in next year...maybe less.

A lot of Bama fans are thinking Alec Morris will be next in line.
I think that was the thought of many Bama fans but Saban has recently announced that Morris is not next in line (said he was behind Del Rio).

I think it will be Cooper Bateman.
That is who I wanted/hoped would be next in line, but that looks not to be also.
As several have stated, I believe it will be Coker.
Chris - haven't heard anything about him and UGA, what have you heard?

Alabama is very fortunate AJ decided to stick around.
Well, maybe Winston is our QB for this year and 2014/2015 if AJ left last year... I think that would be pretty fortunate.

Winston wouldn't have known anything about AJs plans. He was an incoming freshman AJs junior yr and would have still redshirted.

I believe Del Rio will be the guy. But that is a long way away. A lot can happen between now and then. It will be an open competition with a ton of guys competing to be the guy. Should be fun to follow in the offseason.

Next season is going to be a tough season for Alabama football fans to stomach. They're still going to be really good, but the QB position wont be nearly as strong as it's been with McElroy and McCarron. They'll have a bit of a setback.
If they're going to have a setback, it's going to be due to a much tougher schedule not bad play from the QB position. People forget how limited JPW was in 2008 and how poorly McElroy played in 2009 at times. Unlike most teams, they don't need good QB play to win. The success of the team has always been based on the strength of the offensive line. It's not an accident that 2010 was the only year that their offensive line really struggled and was below average at times since the beginning of their great run. If the o-line is great, the team will win no matter who is playing QB.

What will be fun is all the rival fans who've always dogged AJ, put down his skill sets and have said he wasn't any good, all is of sudden start claiming how much he will be missed. That there will be a huge dropoff and etc. Same fans who've claimed Bama could've started some scrub and have the same results due to all the talent and the system Bama runs.
Bama won a NC with GMac, most said he sucked, Hell JPW went undefeated in reg season in 08. Based on recruiting ratings we have better QBs than both of those guys , plus higher ranked guys than AJ was as well.
Bama will be a damn tough team next year with all the returning experienced talent on D and O. The early season schedule looks pretty manageable and should be able to win with another great defense, ball control and a dominant run game. Bama will be very good again next year even with a drop off at QB.

id be surprised if Saban doesn't do the 2 QB rotation that was done with AJ and Philip Sims back during that first game in 2011. But that was done during a flimsy OOC game, the first next year is against WVU.

It'll be Coker. He graduated from FSU in 3 years, one of which was a redshirt year.
He can transfer without sitting. Morris will leave.
Bama doesn't miss a beat.

Blake Sims will be the QB in 2014... a lot of Bama fans are in denial... he will be a Heisman trophy candidate by mid season

Parker McLeod. Watch out, SEC. He's coming for you.

How is he throwing a football around when he obviously doesn't have a soul?

Sure, but all that stopped in about Nov of 2011. Nobody can really argue what he's done in the last ~2 seasons. He's put up the best numbers in your history and will by a 1-2 rd pick.
Interesting Bama is counting on a transfer at QB in 2014, considering the state of the program.
Maybe you have another AJ on the roster. I don't know, that's why I started the thread.
