Must be why UGA's safety was so quick to bite on the crossing route and abandon deep responsibility on the last play of the game.

So that's why the refs were somewhat fair in the first half?? The damn Dodge Charger keys must have been in his bookbag and the REC had to get new ones made at halftime

Isn’t this the second time this has happened to Bama or am I thinking of someone else?

You can't really blame the guy though. Common wisdom suggests that Bama would try to get the lost yardage back in chunks. Try to work the ball back into reasonable field goal position. Who would have figured that on the very next play after that disastrous loss a freshman QB with no experience would wing it 50 yards to the end zone! If I had been the safety, I would have done the same thing.

funny thing is he was trying to bait tua into the very throw that got him beat presnap. But then he got played by the freshman

The thief is obviously too dumb to know the real key to bammers success. It is the horseshoe Saban had implanted in his arse

This is true. But again, you can't blame him. You have to figure a 50 yard fly pattern (the touchdown throw) has a lower percentage of success than an 18 to 20 yard crossing rout. Apparently not for Tua!

We had 3 or 4 guys open on that play. Running open everywhere. Not sure what Jawja was trying to accomplish there.

Sort of....seems he would have stopped coming forward when he saw that the LB was pretty tight with the receiver, even though the receiver was likely getting some separation there. Would have left Bama with 3rd and short probably which is better than the TD.

To be serious, it's not fair to beat up the UGA secondary. It was a well drawn up play by Bama and blocked well. I mean, Bama didn't even need the RB to block, he released toward the wide side of the field.

UGA got beat in OT by the preeminent dynasty in CFB history and the best CFB coach ever, and a Bama team that played extremely well in the 2nd half. UGA forced Bama to beat them and they did. There's no shame in that. It will however provide a lot of motivation for UGA moving forward.

This may seem like a stretch of sorts but....Kirby Smart may get credit for resurrecting the SEC. His hire created the ripple effects leading to Sumlin and McElwain getting fired. Mullen at UF is a great combination. Fisher at A&M is the same. I think we're going to consistently see 2 SEC teams in a 4-team playoff from now on.

Saban has to make up excuses. The bad part is its not like Smart doesn't know Saban's gameplan backwards and forwards.

Honestly, I still think that the DBs could have played it better, the majority of the blame lies with the coaches. They didn't respect Tua's vision and arm as much as they should have, especially in what amounts to sudden death overtime. You don't give a QB with that kind of arm that much territory to work with by going cover 2 , at least not one as recognizable as UGA's was. You plan better for the deep ball, especially on a second and long with the game on the line. JMHO. I'm clearly not in the same class as defensive minds at a program like UGA's, I absolutely concede

It's easy to say it in hindsight, but I was yelling that we should be calling a time out after they lined up to get set for that play anyways... definitely a huge mistake on the coaching side of things, though the execution from the players simply exacerbated it.

parish also couldn't know that tua could throw that ball on such a flat trajectory. Normal qbs have to arc that up, giving time to work back and break it up. Tua threw it 48 yards on a rope
