We haven't come close to finalizing basketball schedules that start in 7 months. Yet we are scheduling football games that current toddler aged kids will be performing in.

I just don't know why schedules need to be set so far out.
I'd like for the SEC , along with all the other conferences, go to a 9 game conference schedule beginning the 4th week of the season. This way, we can reserve all the OOC games to be played in weeks 1 - 3. It will help free up everyone's schedule where everyone will be needing OOC games at the same time.
And for you USCe and UF and UGA and UK fans that just have to play that OOC ACC game, play it in one of these first 3 weeks.

future home and home series

Need more of those in CFB. Nothing against the neutral games in Dallas or Atlanta but those get stale.

Most certainly it could happen. However, since my plan is somewhat drastic and there are a number of you whiners about certain games at certain times (TSIO, included), I'll meet you halfway and force everyone to keep the first 2, maybe 3 weekends open in the first of the season, then you must play the 9 conference games over the next 10 weekends. That way, Florida can still play FSU at the end of the year.

So, to sum up:
13 weekends of football
1st - 3rd weekend: All OOC games/ bye
4th - 13th weekend: 9 conference games, 1 bye (or FSU game)

apparently we are close to scheduling a series with OU as well.

According to an OU fan it is a split year series. Really, really split!

2023-Georgia
2031-@Georgia

Edit: Must be true.

"Per The Athletic, UGA is rumored to be in discussions for a home-and-home series with the Oklahoma Sooners that would begin in 2023. The final game of the series would reportedly take place sometime in the 2030’s."
