You pasted his career summary at UW with no analysis or insight, as if you proved some kind of point. I know tFear can be paralyzing, brother, but you got to come up with something better than that.

Now post Kiffin's USC resume. And his Alabama resume.

I really hope things turn out really well for Steve Sarkisian. As much as it's joked about on here, substance abuse is really no joke, and it's really sad with how it has ruined his life, personally and professionally. And you have got to hand it to Nick Saban for giving him, and Lane Kiffin, chances. He helped rehabilitate Kiffin's career. I remember what was said about Saban for hiring Kiffin. Even I questioned it. And then when he hired Sarkisian as an offensive analyst, people raised their eyebrows. But I hope for Sark's sake that this opportunity is not wasted and that working with Saban will benefit his personal life and professional career.

And here's a link to what Saban said about him back in September, if anyone is interested.

quote:

“He’s going through some personal things himself to get himself in a very positive position and wants to continue to do those things in the future,” Saban said. “Professionally, he loves coaching.”

The No. 1-ranked Crimson Tide now has two former USC coaches in the fold. Offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin helped his new team demolish the Trojans 52-6 on Saturday night.

Saban hinted that he will monitor Sarkisian’s off-the-field issues as the season progresses.

“I think he understands the consequences that he deals with professionally if he has any issues or problems,” the Alabama coach said. “Hopefully he’ll be able to get back on his feet professionally and this will be beneficial to him.”

Nick loves him some projects.

Hopefully, he can help this guy. It is tragic that he wrecked his own career twice because of a substance addiction.

Hell of an OC. I have no doubt he will be great on the field. Hopefully he can make the most of this chance off the field as well.

Good post. I agree.

Initially, I wasn't happy when Saban hired Kiffin. I knew he was a great OC, but had concerns about his character. I've learned to trust Saban's judgement on who he hires.

Sark is great OC/QB coach too. With Hurts & Tua it's obvious Bama's offense will remain DTQB-based & multiple, flexible, adaptable. Sark's already set knowledge-wise to take over seamlessly.

Saban has a backup OC available in Napier if Sark relapses.

I didn't take any of the recent negative rumors about Sark as having any merit and fully expected Saban to promote Sark to take over.

I like the hire and I ain't worried at all about it.

Rehabbing PAC 12 coaches since 2014.

Kiffin
Tosh Lupoi
Sarkisian

I feel it's payback for enduring Nussmeier shitty play calling. That's another PAC 12 guy.

I do not think it is a big risk for Alabama either way. But the ramifications for Sark are huge. If he messes up this opportunity, I do not know if he gets another.

Again, I hope he controls his demons. They have clearly overtaken his life in the past, and it is bigger issue than football.

He has an opportunity here and I hope he is able to capitalize on it.

I still hope Saban retires soon!

He could be going total "Leaving Tuscaloosa" on a national stage. Hopefully he gets a piece of arse like Elizabeth Shue if thats the case.

Saban is blazing trails - turning them into legend. If Sark works out it will add another page to the already obscenely rich book of accomplishments that solidify Sabans reputation as the the greatest college coach of all time. Maybe some other great coach somewhere did this in the past but I don't remember it. Saban takes big seriously risky chances - but they're not haphazard. They're calculated based on risk versus reward with the additional power of Sabans confidence in his ability to control the outcome. You have to admire a guy who's willing to take chances like this. If Sark blows it I have a feeling Saban has a several back up plans that will keep Alabama in the winners circle.

Canada has had a bunch of jobs with 1-2 yrs each stop. But some people are saying he's a great OC. We will see. I will take Sark who was a pretty good HC.

If Saban can keep him sober, it'll be a fantastic hire.

Saban's defense is so good that if Sark passes out drunk during the game, he can just let the other team's offense on the field for the rest of the game and wait for his defense to score 2 TDs.

Seven Sarkisian was getting plastered and banging Denny's waitresses before Tiger Woods made it cool.
