Again, most Cajuns had Brian Kelly's success at LSU pegged for the same reason. He not only didn't replicate his ND success; he got fired. I remember a lot of USC's games, and they were terrible. Nothing like the scheme and product at Ole Miss. Instead, he famously got fired on the Tarmac.
This is the real elephant in the room: NIL changes everything for every school in the country. The fit and talent have to be harvested in a completely different manner and then sustained. I frankly haven't seen anyone master such a balance. I would say the Indy coach has been the closest. But that's one coach and one school for only 2 NIL years. Kiffin spent a crazy amount of money on NIL at Ole Miss; why would that be the blueprint at LSU? Yet there it is.

Unpopular opinion, Brian Kelly would've won a championship at LSU in 2023 if he'd have retained Blake Baker as defensive coordinator and not hired Matt House.
Brian Kelly not winning a natty had nothing to do with a lack of talent.

They went 10-3 with one of the worst defenses in the country, it's not ridiculous to assume they would've made some noise with a top 50 defense, especially if it was somehow top 30.

I'll submit that LSU couldn't run the ball, nor stop the run or much else, because of the offensive scheme Kelly ran at LSU. It was a complete turnaround from his ND days, or from the defenses we saw in the Playoff and NC.

2023 LSU beat A&M.
Maybe with a better defense, they still lose to Alabama but one loss is no big deal. They beat 2023 Ole Miss with a little better defense.

That's crazy talk. Do you remember this guy named Les Miles? He played to his defense. You eventually canned him because his suffocating defense cost your offense. And that just wasn't sexy enough. Do you know why BAMA and LSU were having those knockdown dragout fights that most of the country tuned into? Cause BAMA also played to their defense, and it cost us offensively. One is the extension of the other. But what you guys were doing to the Oregons of the world, we were doing to the high fliers who dare bring that aerial finesse crap into the stadium.
The difference between me and you is that I obviously remember a time when both BAMA and LSU scared the absolute shite out of the rest of the country every week for a decade. And you guys learned to hate Miles for it. We decided to go a different route and name our field after Coach Saban.

Miles never stopped putting a scary product on the field. In 2015, undefeated LSU, just ranked #2 by the playoff committee, went to Tuscaloosa and got beat. Frankly, much like everyone else who tried that. LSU hierarchy created everything that came next. The tiger team felt every threat made against that man's job, because that's just what players do. That team went south after the 9th game of the season.
It was predictable watching that team implode. LSU brass was too busy thinking they had Jimbo in the bag to care anymore, and it was over, and the team knew it and played like it. If Jimbo doesn't back out, 2016 doesn't even happen. AND THAT IS THE TRUTH.
