The truth is, there are other good teams out there. Bama might win it all, and might lose to FL or any of the teams in the playoff. You just never know. That said, I think Bama has as good a chance as anyone. The bolded is so often overlooked it bothers me. That team overachieved if you ask me.

It was also Bama's best offense of Saban's time there wasn't it?

You guys played a great game but Kiffin lost us the game. He refused to run D Henry in the second half and instead put Blake in situations he doesn't excel at. You had no answer for Henry and that's not to take away from your win but he didn't touch the ball much in the 2nd half.

We will obviously make the top 4 if we win out, but I dont think we can beat Oklahoma if we have to paly them. I'd like our chances vs Clemson alot and Im about 50/50 on if we can beat Ohio State.

Still think Coker will have to win a game eventually and I'm not sold he can. The defense is championship level and we have very good skill players on offense, but can the team count on Coker when he needs to shelve the game mnagaer mentality and throw a TD to win a game?

Ragland is a beast in coverage. Ohio State would have to go 4 WR set with Elliot in the back field and leave the freshmen Humphrey and Fitz on an island. This way Bama would be on their heels trying to account for Barnett and Elliot running the ball, as well as leaving freshman in one-on-one coverage with no safety over the top.

Oh I forgot yall like to ignore OU and Ohio State beating you in consecutive years because.

The Ohio State loss was significant. Don't know why so many posters want to bring up the meaningless Oklahoma Sugar Bowl game. Nobody cared about that game.

In games like those, it's always going to come down to 3-4 plays that dictate the outcome of the game. I thought OSU and Bama were evenly matched, just OSU was much better prepared and when a big moment was presented, they capitalized on it and outright beat us.

Your intentions, too obvious. Pretending to engage in objective football conversation isn't in you.

That's a fair statement.

They have a pretty good chance.

They will literally embarrass Ohio State

Umm... people were saying the same last year. I would not put money on any playoff game.

Once that mighty front 7 starts thinking about the draft, Bama will come back down to earth. Unfortunately for them, that will be playoff time.

The Ohio State University will win it again. When the competition gets better they will be motivated and win out. They have as much talent as Bama and 3 better QBs.

Bama is not unbeatable but I don't think any of the top teams can handle Bama dline and that will be the difference. Missing Drake on offense if he can't come back will be huge. As long as Henry stays healthy and Coker doesn't cost you a game they will be the favorite. Secondary can get burnt but still make enough plays to cover.

I think UNC upsets Clemson in title game and the biggest threat might be OU Okla St winner.

People paint the narrative of Alabama having trouble with the spread, but in the 4 losses they had in the past 2 years it was the turnovers that did them in.

Thank you for bringing some rational analysis. -5 in turnovers to good teams like OU and Ole Miss will get you beat every time. -2 to a comparatively talented team like OSU can be the difference maker and we only lost by 6 to them last year.

Stop whining. My statement that Bama would have a hard task against Clemson and Ohio State is far from controversial but clearly upset you. Sorry I find the patronizing blame Kiffin trope funny when Elliott had a phenomenal game, Ohio State has probably half a dozen first rounders on their team this year alone, and they went on to dominate Oregon.

They are doing that on purpose. Bama is spreading the ball around early to keep defenses honest. Then they start to wear them down. That's why Henry runs wild in the 4th qtr. It looks frustrating in the first half, but it is a methodical execution of a defense if done right. Limiting turnovers and penalties are the key. Watch the last 9 min of the LSU game. Alabama strangled that defense to death.

Some would say "yes". But, in my opinion, no. They did put up big stats, but it was an all or nothing type offense. Those are prone to being shut down. Give me a grind and drive offense any day. Unfortunately, this year's offense is similar, although they are relying more on the run. I'm not a huge Kiffin fan.

Can someone tell me what the difference is in this years DL vs. last years? Isn't it the same 6-8 guys? I thought that was why people thought they would be so great because they brought everyone back

I know they are getting more sacks etc but that is often in tandem with coverage being better or qbs being worse.

Not sure what you mean. Best OL possibly ever in CFB, our best QB in a long time and Lacy/Fowler in the backfield. Receivers were not too shabby either.

It is a much improved unit. I do not recall anyone last year calling them the best in college football.

Didn't Sims/Cooper break all the Bama passing records last year and both Yeldon/Henry were around 1,000 yard rushers? I recall before the Sugar Bowl people saying this was Bama's best offense in a long time
