Bama is probably a good deal better than FSU, but I'm not sure about a top 10 ranking. I want to see if there's any meaningful improvement in offensive line play and the running game in general before I'd go that far. Somewhere around the preseason ranking of 13 is fair.

The defense looks to be improved over last year, though.

It was the mass opt out/exodus prior to the UGA game that should have been the red flag. That’s a colossal failure in team & culture development.

Horrifying to consider Byrne was ever considering him as a replacement for Saban.

Bobby Bowden made FSU and his legacy is in serious danger of disappearing.
Sure, Jimbo won a title in '13 but he left the program in a mess much like Urban Cryer did in Gainesville. The Gators have still not recovered but are still a big brand. FSU's brand is fading.
In today's era with some previously terrible or mediocre programs knocking on the door, you can lose relevance. Many kids have no idea of the brand that Bowden built and, besides, it's all about the money now. Apparently FSU was behind in NIL and hadn't fully adopted an NFL general manager system.
The ACC has one premier team right now: Miami. Clemson is in a downward spiral and FSU is in the abyss. Maybe Va Tech bounces back or SMU's money will keep them stocked. FSU really isn't in the discussion.
