Bobby Wyatt, graduate of UMS-Wright in Mobile who is slated to join the Crimson Tide Golf Team this Fall, set history today in the second round of the 65th Boys' State Junior Championship at the Country Club of Mobile. The 17-year-old shot a 14-under 57 in what is believed to be the lowest round in competitive golf history.
Wyatt shot had 12 birdies, an eagle and five pars Wednesday on the par-71, 6,628-yard course. The previous lowest score in competitive play on a golf course of more than 6,500 yards was a 58, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. Wyatt needed 23 putts total and shot a 9-under 26 on the front nine.
