There is a difference between UA fans and UA football fans. UA fans like see to see all sports do well and make an attempt to keep up with all of them, UA football fans are fans that only care about Alabama football because it is performing at such a high level and disregard other sports because we "suck" at them.

Would Tennessee have 18K show up for womens basketball if the Summit had been 4-29 every year?
Would USCe fans even be talking baseball if Carolina hadn't won 2 recent national titles?
Would UK have 21K seat Rupp Arena if they had never won the SEC in basketball?
LSU has great baseball support. Check the avg attendance in say oh...1980 or so. Probably wasn't 8,000 at games. SRO games, skyboxes at the Box, etc.
Everyone loves a winner. We love watching our team win and boasting. Anybody would brag. When or if Bama ever again wins at baseball, there will plenty of fans at the games and discussing baseball. It's like that EVERYWHERE YOU GO. Even Carolina and Louisiana. We know we suck. That's why we don't follow it as closely. It's not fun to lose. Geez.

And then there were the 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's when lsu wallowed in mediocrity while Alabama won 5 NC's
What you're saying is that even with a head start, your program doesn't hold a candle to Alabama
